Very nice but a Speedy is next on my list. No doubt this will sell out in a few hours!

"Hoodwinkee".. very good http://forums.watchuseek.com/f11/bring-brain-xi-43...
I see it sold out within the hour mind you so plenty of people bit.. Maybe the Nantucket / Martha's Vineyard set who it's probably aimed at.
The prices on their online store are often in their own bubble of New York Hedge/Trust Fund craziness but I do like the site and the general ethos. I've learned a few things about watches from some of their videos too.
They've either not understood what a regatta watch is or they've been extremely lazy in the implementation.
A regatta watch is designed to count down in 5 minute segments so the skipper can assess when to start heading to the start line. This is the main feature of a regatta watch.
This is how it is implemented on the original:
Notice the minute chrono subdial is 15 minutes count down and split into 3 5min zones.
Here's the Hodinkee one:
It is a standard count up scale of 30mins split into 10min zones.
Its no more a regatta watch than any other chronograph.
Shame.
