So, I am going to buy one of these. One thing though, I love the blue face (with the 3, 6 and 9 indicators) but on the rolex website, the hands look FAR thinner than the hands on the Red Grape/Silver 36mm models with the baton markers. Is this really the case?

No. If you think about it logically, why would they do such a thing?
Obvious answer is optical illusion or poor computer rendering.

Because it's Rolex, and it's entirely possible they would release a small batch thin-hand 'by mistake' watches for collectors to notice in a couple of years and become sought after, thereby promoting the whole line and reinforcing the Rolex as investment meme.
