For my nephews 21st

Only thing I'm sure about is he wants a large wearing watch with a brown leather strap. And chronograph style

Brand more important than quality sadly, but heyho

Have a look at Jomashop from the Us they often have Tissot, Ball etc at 60% discounts off RRP so even allowing for 20% at customs you can get some stunning deals biggrin

Could you stretch?

Ignore the date the vendor has, this model was released in 1997, making it very very nearly as old as your nephew.

A very good quality watch, currently an undervalued model IMHO, which is why I'm suggesting it. Its a keeper and I think its value will increase.

Other than that for new standard answers in this price range are the Tissot VisoDate or the Hamilton Intra-matic. The latter is a much better watch, but is dearer.

Oh bugger, I missed that . Sorry.

You won't get a good mechanical chrono for that money, not even second hand. Hell you may even struggle to get a shoddy one.
You may struggle to get a quartz chrono from a "Brand" too. Quartz isn't my thing, and neither really are chronos.

Try Casio / Citizen. Tissot may have something, but only selected models from their range are decent, they are mainly fashion watches nowadays.
Hmmn, how about a Christopher Ward C3 Malvern Chrono? I'll let you google it.

How about a nice Bulova Moonwatch?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/262932693279?chn=ps&d...

In case anyone should think its just an homage to the Omega the Bulovas did actually go to the moon and was used by Dave Scott (it was his personal watch - NASA at that time speccing Omegas). Dave Scotts personal Bulova was auctioned for £1.6million(!) in 2015.
