Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 12]
Discussion
I'm going to throw my push bike in the barge and meet up with some pedal powered PHers for a ride.
Still toying with the idea of making my commute a bit more efficient. Yesterday I dragged the family to the Skoda garage to look at a Kodiaq (which is a kind of q7/touareg kind of thing). It was ok, but not nicer than my 211 to be in and I'm loathed to spend money on interest or depreciation.
Intrigued by Bigben and electricsoup's 211/leaf stablemates I'm looking at that now. Seems you can PCP a used Leaf for £150 per month if you're lucky to find one, which might be less than my fuel bill. There are some creative man maths going on here which might ignore maintenance and insurance, but I'll do some proper sums. This might relegate the barge back to only tip/holiday/towing/kids parties etc. where the size/weight/power/range is needed.

I have thought about leasing an i3 for this purpose but the lease costs—depreciation if you're a cash buyer—far out weigh the savings in fuel costs. A barge is no more expensive. Even my diesel 124 with all the expenditure I have to make is no more per mile, all in, than an i3's lease costs alone. My 190 is significantly cheaper. And I expect my E430 will also work out cheaper. Add to that my commute includes 40miles of open road and I can't turn my back on barge.
If your commute is short (<10miles) and suburban, then maybe. But even then I can't see past the wasted capital.

I'm in. There are surely worse ways to smoke around for a year than in this blue with cream 728i for 2 bags? 111k miles.

Don't know why but the 728 leaves me cold, but I was more than happy when I got the D2 2.8https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Nice looking car and probably the sensible engine to have. I may have been admiring this 740. I reckon they've hit rock bottom now. The only way is up.

One owner for 14 years and 83k for this 3.5 Vel Satis at £1249 from a slightly dubiously named dealer... No, it's not a 7 series. So why am I drawn to cr+p like this?!
