To avoid getting lost in the main thread, I thought it might be worth starting a thread for people who may be getting cars in the second allocation so that we can share information as it comes in. For what it's worth, I've paid deposit and got signed Order Form from Porsche owned OPC for 2018 car. My OPC expects to know their allocations in November.

So, end of November seems to be the cut off point. No allocation by then and its a NO NO.

This is new to me... I was told by my OPC that no deposits will be taken until allocation announced.. so it seems strange that th y have taken a deposit?? Or, is it that you missed out on the first batch, and they kept your deposit?

Each OPC or at least each dealer group is different.

I was invited to place a £10k deposit in March when the car was launched and am told I am in with a good chance of a 2018 car. Have submitted a likely spec but no order form but then I don't think it's worth much...haven't asked for one.

So there we have three different permutations already!

I haven't been told November but that's my expectation based on what I know of when Porsche GB release build slots.

People can leave 10k but it's not a deposit is it, one cannot have an order form with no allocation, what if the OPC did not get any cars !

People can call this £10k what ever they like but it's not a deposit :-) .

When I was asked to leave a deposit I was told "it's not an if or a but" you're getting a car.

The OPC called it a deposit so that's good enough for me. And yes an "Order Form" is a one way document that the OPC can cancel....which is why it's called an Order Form an not a contract.

Anyway let's keep this thread to the topic and not our various states of commitment etc

Yes, I'm interested to see when people start getting the 'nod' regardless of deposit/order form. I'm going for Touring Pack, GT Silver, Satin Aluminium Wheels....

My understanding is that the OPCs know how many they are getting, just not when exactly. I'd be amazed if Porsche hadnt already planned all production for 2018.

It will be in November I was told last week by my DP and they also haven't had their build slots for early 2018 for other models in the range yet.

I have an inkling that they already know how many they are each getting, I’ve been given ‘send me your Spec’ so fingers crossed! I have a GTS arriving End November, so would look to PX that for the GT3, but after having had the GTS demo for the weekend just gone, I’m not sure really what I’d me gaining 🤔, OH other than the wailing banshee of a NA Orchestra!!!

I've paid £10K deposit or call it what you will. No order form yet.

I think they've known with a very high degree of certainty for six months.

I doff my cap to your enthusiasm for 911's ! Your GTS might only be four or five months old when you come to trade it in. No wonder your OPC likes you! I nearly bought my OPC's demo a few months ago but couldn't justify it as I reckon running it for six months (assuming I get a GT3) would have cost me £20k as it was a very high spec car.
