I would second Tudor. Lovely watches coming from them at the moment. The heritage black bay is beautiful and can be dressed up or down which I love. Such good value. £2k used and change for a blow out smile

Also Speedmaster. A classic in my opinion. The IWC 3717 pilot is a good shout. I had one, sold it and wish I hadn't!

I'd get a Omega 45.5mm 2500 PO on a rubber strap.

Only if you have huge wrists. 45.5mm is a BIG watch.

Hi,

I'm a watch newbie and looking to spend roughly £2500 or under. It will be worn day-to-day at work, and on the weekends. I've bought watches in the past with quartz movement e.g. the Odd Casio and Armani but I am looking to spend more money on an automatic watch from a respectable brand, something which won't plummet in value. New or second hand it doesn't bother me, as long as it's decent nick. I don't like metal bracelets and would prefer rubber or leather

Now onto watch design, I know Rolex are out of my price range, and although I can appreciate the classic design, it's not something which appeals to me. I want something which looks a bit more modern, and have spotted these preowned Tudor Grantours below which I like the look of, on Watchfinder:

Is Tudor a good brand? The second watch is less than a year old, and it's up for £2525 (it retails at £3200). Am I just going to lose my money if I buy something like this?

Are there are other watches which look similar to these? Over to you lads
Tudor is a sub brand of Rolex
Think of a what they do with wines there is the second line to the world beaters same wine yard same grapes but cheaper
So if you don't need the name .... some even come with an oyster case

Other good brands withoutnthensuper price
Oris
Muehle glashuette
Chronoswiss

At that price point, speedmaster is the obvious call. Only criteria it doesn't fulfil is being auto, it's manual wind.

The watch wears much smaller than the headline case size would suggest, the bezel is smaller at around 43.5mm the sides of the case are chamfered and the lug ends are slim.

It wears more like a 43mm watch.

Well that's all in the eye of the beholder, it's a tool watch not a dress watch.
