First post (i think) in the Watches section.

Just received a Back Friday deal on the above watch & having always liked the look of it, i really just wanted to gauge if this reduced price makes the watch worthwhile as a buy? It will of course get worn alongside my other Tag & Breitling timepieces.

Reason i ask is the most i've spent on a watch to date is £3800, so this is pushing that budget limit by more than i'd usually consider, however it appears the deal price of £4600 is around £1800 less than RRP & about £900 less than the lowest i can see anywhere else online.

Thanks in advance.

It's a lot of money but if you want and like it .... Yes go for it ... you will struggle to get it much cheaper (from my quick checking).
I've bought from there before with no problems

Sorry not my personal favourite in design but if you like it .. Go for it

There is a used one on bracelet at WF http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Tag%20Heuer/Monaco/CA...
Quite a saving over the new one and still use Tag warranty.

To be honest it's more than i'd want to spend currently on a watch, but is a timepiece i've always really liked the look of & at a £4600 Sale Price, it's that price that's driving me to consider it as well as liking the look of it. If it represents good value, which against a list price of £6400 i guess it does (i'm far from being even competent on matters surrounding watches), then that could be enough of a driver for me to buy one.

Current stable (new to this) are:

TAG Carrera Calibre 16 Black Titanium

TAG Carrera Calibre 16 Formula 1

Breitling COLT 44

Baume & Mercier Capeland S (first decent watch i bought about 12yrs ago).

If you feel you can afford it (well it's 'only' £100 over 4 years smile ) and considering you speak as it's a 'grail' watch, I'm surprised you haven't already got it.
I've only a small collection with several "strange" watches because I wanted them but always regret the watches I missed out on.

To me at that price I'd pay that premium over a second hand one to have that warm glow of being its first keeper.

Ignore this bit .... Unfortunately I'd get a different watch as it does nothing for me ... Sorry byebye

It's a TAG Heuer Calibre 12 movement, which is an ETA 2892 with a Dubois Depraz chronograph module.

To the OP - If you want it, go for it! Personally, I'd choose one of the more standard looking Monaco pieces and AMJ Watches has a few to choose from. However the LS is different, and it certainly stands out against other Monaco pieces you see on people's wrists!

Unlikely to have bought it at RRP, but the best part of £2k off was the factor that's drawn me in.

Arrived yesterday & about to open the package.

I like all the models of the Monaco range, however of those i see folk wearing, i've yet to see the LS on a wrist, so decided something a little different was my preference.

Absolutely - I haven't seen an LS in person either! I'm quite excited to see some wrist shots, so be sure to post some up! smile I used to own a Tao International Speedmaster (Cost £50 - A bit of fun!), which was loosely based on the LS ...

On wrist shots. So far am really pleased with the watch, although has taken a little faffing to get the bracelet comfortable on my wrist.

I own one of these and love it. The only problem is the weight of the thing. Be interesting to know how you get on with it.

Really, really interesting watch I think. There's always something nice about something with enough quirks so it doesn't appeal to everyone.

Not the classic look I would personally go for but an interesting one for the future I'm sure, as others have noted really looking forward to hearing how you get on with it.

The watch has over delivered & i'm over the moon with it. Certainly is a striking piece & feels great on my wrist.

That said, it is certainly heavier & little more bulky than my other watches, although not uncomfortably so. This will then mean it will be the 'special occasion' watch rather than a more regular wear & that's kind of how i hoped the watch would pan out, so it's greater size/weight will be the draw to not wear it all the time.

I wanted one of these last year but after finding out they could only be special ordered direct from Tag as no local dealers had a piece in stock to look at I ended up buying a Heuer 01 Phantom Titanium instead.

The LS is a great looking watch, I just wasn't willing to pay the money to then think it wasn't the watch for me.

Looking at the pics it a lovely piece. I'm envious. tongue out

Mine came from AMJ Watches & with their Black Friday discount, was reduced from a List Price of i think £6500 to £4800, so i felt it was a bit of a bargain.
