Agreed! It's the only Tudor I'd get without instantly changing the hour hand!
Vive la difference!

It has that 'does the job' look about it, in a fashionable, but acceptable way.

I just think a snowflake is a bit overkill. Good job we're all different. beer

(are there shades of oysterquartz in the case, bracelet?)

Good choice sir.

I never realised that all the others had the snowflake hour hand. I know little about watches though, I just tend to buy what I like the look of and leave it at that. The luminescence (?) is poor on this one but having said that, I don't know when I've ever been found needing it.

I want the new(ish) Air King next and had a look at one in a jewellers in Crete last month. Price - €5950, which is a fair bit more than the list in £. The lady kindly informed me that in the UK all the Rolex dealers are locking their stock in safes and not letting it go so I wouldn't be able to get my hands on one unless I bought the one she had...

I like that, is it a ‘classic’ Monza?
No - it was made in the early/mid eighties when Heuer was owned by Nouvelle Lemania so it uses the Lemania 5100 movement rather than a 'Cal.xx' one.

It doesn't have a name as such, but is part of the '1000' range - this model is the 510.501; there was a stainless steel version too - the 510.500.

The whole (convoluted) history of that period incl. this model is here - https://www.calibre11.com/heuer-lemania-part-one/
Thanks, lovely, was looking at (I assume) a remade / re-released one recently but would prefer this.

That's an interesting piece. How often are there 119 days in Kanji time ? smile

tongue out

I found a strap extender piece for £3 on the bay to try to get the original strap back on. I didn't hold out any hope of it fitting / looking good but it works! smile

So back on the original:

...and a pictorial explanation of how we got to 119 days, at least, in a month!

Still loving that green OP. Apple Watch for me this week. Nearing 2 years with it and it's scuffed to bits. It’s been practically a freebie through my health insurance (as I've kept up the required exercise) and I’m thinking of getting one of the new gen 4 ones the same way. I’ve definitely found it useful but my “proper” watches aren’t getting enough wrist time.

That's rather nice. Lovely colour. And the amazing thing is that you can read the time easily, even though it's not as big as a soup plate.

Big Rolex aren’t just a new fad though, the 8171 was 38mm back in the 1950s.

Rolex really need to bring back some of these great watches with unusual complications. Instead of just cashing in on SS sports models.

Nice watch. Looks very similar to a JLC Master Calendar.
