Not going to fit on anyone’s wrist, but had the pleasure of Heston’s food yesterday and thought some may like to see his ‘pocket’ watch.
I have fancied a nice pocket watch for a while. There seems to be some quite nice looking stuff out there for not a lot of money.

I had this on today

Giving my Seiko Sportura Quartz a run out this week.

Bought originally with the black leather/red stitching strap but as this got a bit tatty, I tracked down the original bracelet from Seiko UK.

It’s a weighty piece that wears really nicely.

only since participating in these forums have i found out that Seiko make all these interesting and often premium watches (grand seiko etc). I am sure it isn't an uncommon view that Seiko the brand isn't really one you'd associate with such things. I'd always associated them with digital calculator watches in the 80s and the sort of £5 watches my Mum buys from the local pharmacy until the battery runs out. I think they have a brand awareness issue!

Nissan produce the GTR, Toyota the LFA, the general public doesn't know about these cars.
Just as the general public will see a Seiko and think of it as a Toyota, people in the know know that they can produce top level watches if they want, it just isn't their bread and butter.

I'm probably only aware of them due to my Dad having a Seiko when he was younger and educating me. It was a really early Quartz Digital model and it appealed to my father's somewhat whimsical technological appreciation.

How are you liking your Farer?

I have a Lander on my wish list, although need to see one in person before thinking of spending that much on an 'unknown' brand.

I have had wrench my new Panoreserve off my wrist for something a trifle more robust so it’s this today

They're overpriced for sure, I would never pay retail for one. I picked this up pre-owned but unused for a price I was happy I could get my my money back - I've followed the used market for some time and they do seem to get snapped up and hold their value relatively well.

The reason I bought it was the design, I really like the detailing and colours they use, they're decent enough quality but there is better out there for less money but nothing comparable design wise.

Thanks for the feedback smile

Objectively they seem overpriced but as you say, the designs and colour mixes really appeal to me though and that must be worth something extra on top of the basic parts cost.

Its definitely one for the back-burner list.

This arrived today. I'm happy with it, and will expect it to darken over the coming months.

For the money they are very nice indeed.

However I find it wears a bit big - I have worn larger watches (eg Radiomir) that felt/looked smaller on the wrist.
