People have been saying that for a couple of years now and there's been no give, the opposite even no?
Ive had a dozen of hulks in my ebay watch list, brand new with papers etc highest price paid was list , any thing over that has gone unsold ! Some early vintage subs have made good money, why I don’t know as I would rather have a spankin new one to wear not just leave in a box just to say you own one. Why anyone would buy one just to put it on fleabay and barely get your money back , It doesn’t make any sense.aeropilot said:
Westfield White City are a waste of space, and most Frazer Hart chains are equally useless.
I'd avoid the chain AD's and venture out of town for one of the older non-chain jeweler AD's. Try Gatwood Jewellers in Windsor, Prestons in Guilford or maybe Wakefields in Horsham....rather than anywhere in London.
I agree. It's just a ballache to drive out there in the limited free time I have. The whole idea of being grateful for being allowed to buy a watch I want is an anathema to meI'd avoid the chain AD's and venture out of town for one of the older non-chain jeweler AD's. What was interesting was that when I spoke to Westfield store I asked what percentage of their sales were stainless steel Sports Rolex. They said roughly 5% which surprised me as I thought it would be nearer 20%

Sadly, in the current climate, if you want one, you have buy used or wait a long time, or be prepared to do a bit of legwork.
I was in the same boat 8 years ago, when Rolex announced the new ceramic big case Sub at Baselworld, and I went on the search for a new 16610 Sub.
Tried every AD in London and Greater London, all said, if only we had some, so I had to start working my way out of London trying home counties AD's. One of them had a sister branch up in Leeds that had one in stock, which they sent down to the AD in Berkshire, and thus I was able to buy one of the last 16610's for sale in the UK.
Hi there. Went into Goldsmiths last week, and their Rolex corner was heaving. So busy, couldn't even talk to anyone. Was told I would get a call back, but never did.
Where in the UK would be the best place to get on the list for a new green Hulk date sub? I have a photo when there was one in my local town 2.5 years ago, before the price increase, for £6050. Back then I could not afford it, and didn't realise at the time how rare it would become.
Goldsmiths says now 4-5 years, but I'm sure there must be somewhere with an 18-36 month wait list for one of these.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

4-5 yrs seems the standard story for subs and daytonas. Our AD closed the list after I went on it at christmas for a Daytona. I'm not holding out much hope. Instead I bought a Navitimer GMT LE at the air tattoo to cheer myself up!
I was told the same from an AD for a 2018 Deepsea two weeks ago, 5 year wait not taking names. However I managed to pick one up on Sunday bonerp said:

I bought my steel Daytona with no wait, and about a year for the ceramic one.I walked into Prestons in Guildford one day last year (terrible experience with them though....very arrogant and rude. Sense of self importance) and found a stainless GMTII (116710LN) they had in the safe. Bought on the spot, despite the experience, obviously adding to their arrogance!
They did take off all the delivery stickers/protectors and took the bezel guard. No negotiation on it, and they kept my guarantee for 1 year.
Completely unreasonable, in my opinion, but seems to be the norm lately...
I don't even like it, never worn, so up for grabs if anyone interested.

Rather than setting up a new thread I thought I'd ask here.
Anyone any experience with Watch Master? Link for BLNR below ranging around the £8/9k mark depending on year.
Also what's peoples opinions on paying overs? Big no no as they are unlikely to rise any more or saves hassle of waiting 12 month+ ?
TIA

Pay overs if you want, don't worry about what others think. However if you're buying at the top of the market you're going to likely be selling at the top of the market too, meaning 'investment' wise it's a bit pointless.
If you're buying to keep for the foreseeable I don't see the harm in it.

I would’t pay over personally. I’d register interest with a number of dealers and wait for one to come up. I am sure you will get one within 22 months. I don’t think these are selling too well at the 8k mark as there are always a fair few on chrono24 and the like at that price. If you don’t want to wait and the extra 1.5k doesn’t hurt you then go for it.
