I hadn't really noticed that until you mentioned it. Oh well at 43 quid I can live with it.
Indeed! Still a nice looking watch. I'm too fussy.

Going with the Seiko Chronos from a few pages back here's a gift from my dad, unexpected and quite surprising as he has no real interest in watches. I'd never have gone for a chrono but I really love this one, I'm sure in no small part as it is a gift from dad and that means a lot. Put on a Watchgecko MN strap pretty quickly (excuse the sock) and next to my SNK805, the Flightmaster is quite large

Bliger sterile dial auto. Had this one a couple of months and have pretty much worn it every day. A firm favourite.
I really like the look of these, have had one on my ebay watch list for a while.

I probably would have git one but I was put off by my experience with a paulareis omega homage like the one above.

Got this one from eBay under £50. Sapphire mineral glass, nicely finished, keeps really good time and has a very nice solid link bracelet with screw pins and micro adjustment. I really like it.

I bought one from AliExpress believing it to be a Parnis but received a bliger. Not a bad watch for £45 but annoyed that it was being passed off as a superior version.

Given £100 by a relative for Xmas so have this orient mako XL (planet orient) incoming. I've owned a blue dial standard mako for a number of years so expect this will be just as good.

I've had a Mako XL for the last couple of years. I wore it all the time for ages. Bombproof is how I'd describe it.
I'll post a pic later.

Found one.

Different style, but my Orient is one of my favourites. The quality is excellent.

They really are outstanding for the price. The bracelets get a bit of criticism but really not bad at all. The watches themselves look and feel more expensive than they actually are. Similar specs and quality as the rival Seiko skx and just as good but significantly less expensive.

I've had a mako v1 twin crown for about six years now and it's a keeper. Version 2 has an upgraded hacking/hand winding movement but looks the same and currently around £125 on Amazon.

Had to laugh at this, although probably belongs on the wrist check thread.

Are you not aware that it's the only reason we wear these expensive, hand crafted, luxury time pieces?!??! I for one am regularly stopped by important, powerfully built company director types and complimented on my selection of wrist candy that day!! yes

« REALLY like that!! Are the Orient watches any good? Been tempted by a couple, that one included, but know nothing about them!! «

Very nice indeed!

This was £52.

The strap isn’t terrific (no solid end links, pressed clasp, not much micro adjustment) but....

In house movement
Display back
Well finished
Decent power reserve
Day date
Excellent accuracy
This one is pretty hefty too, which I like.

There’s a misconception that they’re a Seiko sub brand because they’re owned by Seiko epsom; in reality the two brands are completely separate (unlike pulsar and lorus)

It's the SNAD05. It seems quite hard to get hold of; no idea where my dad got it from. I do know he's sparked my interest in chronos so will be getting the similar and more infamous SNA411 very shortly.
