Just outside thread budget but this one has been allowed before. Hope nobody minds. Anyway, new strap today that I’m very pleased with. Swiss Reimagined - very reasonable at less than £15

One of my suppliers in the AV industry turns out to be watch mad.

So far he has recommended a Duro (tuna branded) and getting on the Helm waiting list!
I have the Helm Vanuatu. Everything the reviews say is accurate; terrifically well made and finished, decent Sinn styling.

One thing that no one has mentioned is that the face has painted rather than applied indices. I think it makes the face look a bit cheap (well, it IS a cheap watch!) and is the only downside, assuming you can cope with the size and weight of the thing.

There are loads of photos of it on the bracelet so here’s one of it on leather. A mate reaaaaally wants it so I’ll sell it to him for what I paid, I think. I prefer my Seiko Samurai PADI Pepsi as my ‚diver on a bracelet‘. I don’t think I’ll wear the Helm much going forward.

And the PADI:

I also got a Heimdallr titanium diver recently that is at least the equal of the Helm, finishing-wise. Worth a look if you like the Seamaster styling:

Love that Heimdallr titanium!! The Helm is a bit Marmite for me, the Padi looks awesome, but they do come with a big price tag!!

They’re all great looking watches! I’d happily wear any of those!

Thanks.

The Seiko PADI was just over thread budget, used but basically new.

The Heimdallr has a pleasant vintage feel with the off-white dial and top-hat crystal.

The Helm, although solid as a rock, isn’t being worn and therefore will go to my mate!

Picked up an Invicta Diver Auto for 55 quid in the Amazon deals, not really a fan but couldn't say no.

Was my first auto watch, served me for 8 years without a service. Thought it was great 'cept for the cyclops.

yes i've seen you can remove it with a lighter so that is first thing, and hopefully my geckota steel strap fits.

This one if anyone interested.

Nope line came from Amazon with no extra charges.

Thanks to this thread I'm considering getting a Pagani watch. Are the automatic movements in them all by Seiko and therefore actually pretty good quality? Also are any of the models better/worse than the others?

Welcome to our little corner of the Internet, be warned it's a slippery slope as once you start buying cheap watches it's difficult to stop!!! smile
