Well as the title suggests, is there any LOVE for a good sub £200 watch? We appear to have an obsession with Rolex, Omega, Tag, TUDOR ETC but what about people who cannot or will not spend the same amount as a car on a watch?? I have a modest collection of five watches all of them in the threads budget, so I'll start.
Timex Indiglo Expedition classic.
Timex Indiglo Expedition black edition.
Rotary Aquaspeed.
Sekonda N3101 in rose gold.
VulvaBulova Adventurer.

Today's choice was the Sekonda, IMO it's a good looking watch, keeps fairly good time and feels nice on the wrist.

Good idea for a thread, Bobbers. Can we include secondhand watches if they cost less than £200?

I have a Longines from the 40s and a Tissot from the 70s that would fit the bill. This is the Tissot. It had an awful expanding strap instead of the bracelet but eBay came up with an identical original watch that had been smashed and only the bracelet was recoverable. I could have explained that better: one low value watch with a duff strap and one decent bracelet with a duff watch combine to make one nice watch.

Tissot PR 526 GL Automatic.

Of course you can Dicky, all watches are welcome so long as they're in budget, and I do like a nice Tissot, that's an elegant looking watch you have there!!!

'Of its time' did I hear you say?

I cobbled it together to stand in for my long vanished first decent watch. My parents and grandparents chipped in to buy me a watch for my 18th. It was very similar - a 516 possibly - but without the coloured second hand. I think one of my sons liberated it!

Ooooh! That's nice Doofus. Can I ask if that is the genuine classic article or a very good copy?
I trust you have all the authentication papers and service records?

Can't be too carefull these days, there are some convincing fakes out there to trap the unwary.

ETA: It Disney matter how careful you are, you can be easily fooled. wink

Well Bob,

A £20, £200 watch may not have the quality of a £2K or £20k but that does not mean it can not be a great watch in it's price range, and whilst it appears everyone on this forum has £20k watches or Rolexes

I think there is a lot of love for a more sensible priced piece of wrist jewellery

Exhibit 1
Invicta Auto with the NH35A movement, slightly different with a woody dial & bracelet bought new at £200
(BB were kind enough to do the bracelet adjustment FoC ... all for me purchasing a Seamaster smile

Exhibit 2
Vasco Quartz single hand watch - again unusual and a great conversation piece again new at £200

Exhibit 3
Momo Design Chronograph Automatic 7750
Bought from a auction house for 'well under budget'

Under £200 you say eh?

That buys the centre two easily - two subs sub £200 or the outer two. Take your pick chap.

I have a few sub £200 watches (and two that I paid over that sum!). IMO one of the best sub £200 watches is the Citizen Nighthawk. I bought mine new for £190 ish in 2016 on a very nice shark mesh. Slide rule, GMT complication, eco drive ... And best of all it looks like it's straight out of an 80s sci fi film!

OP, I have one of those Rotary Aquaspeeds too, mine is black and chrome. Hated the strap so binned it and put a green cargo type strap on it I found on a market. They are a tough watch that'll take a knock.

How about this, a Pulsar i Bought for £50 on sale around eight years ago.

I really like this watch, you can't tell from the pic but it's got a lovely dark plum coloured leather strap biggrin

I like that, very clean, I bet the strap sets off the face nicely!! Yeah the Aquaspeed's pretty tough, not as tough as the Classic Expedition though, I've been trying to kill that bugger for about 6 years now!!! smile
