I don't give a cuss what other people wear, at my £$£&*^%-ing rip-off dentist yesterday, noticed the Daytona on his wrist and thought: 'I've paid for that.'
He did not compliment me on my Casio World Time (with Perpetual Calendar and five alarm clocks.)
:-)
Well that's just damned unkind of him, you'd have thought that a discerning watch wearer such as he obviously is would have recognised a watch of the same calibre on your wrist!!! He did not compliment me on my Casio World Time (with Perpetual Calendar and five alarm clocks.)

I love those retro Casio's, but I know if I bought one I wouldn't wear it!!! I am contemplating either another Fossil Q hybrid as I'm really impressed with the one I have, or there's a rather nice Seiko SKX009 on Creation Watches site which is in budget!!!!
Get the 009....prices are on the up and supply will be drying up.The Radio Room arrived this morning.
Silly bloody me didn't read the specs properly and it's one of the larger watches with 22mm lugs.
I don't mind big watches and have many but I have a fondness for the 38mm Amfibias.
Thanks to HMRC finally giving me a tax code taking me off BR I have a nice refund next payday so even swearing off any more purchases a replacement Scuba Dude will be ordered.

I like that Radio Room Vostok...
What? Duty on the Casio World Time? No.
Creation Watches offer DHL for £7 or so, or tracked something or other for free. I opted for the later. Arrived well padded, UK signed for delivery.
Ebay UK have them for about £15. Creation Watches currently at £24.
Big plus for me is 'Zulu Time' (UTC) and the 24 hour stop-watch for fuel burn calcs. Both useful for flying. A lot of light aircraft seem to have a G-Shock velcro'd on the cockpit panel for the same functions. :-)

Most expenshive dentisht in town. They are wily fellowsh. My last used to drive to work in an old Focus. Saw him pulling out of a Waitrose car park on a Sunday in an Porsche 911. Perhaps it was his wife's. :-(
Flying? Er, yes. Ikarus C42. Had to desist when the cataracts got to the point of not recognising 'sea' from 'sky'. Eyeballs now fixed. There is no more enjoyable way to set fire to large amounts of money. ;-)
I would love to design the perfect pilot's watch (for under £200.) It would need a 24 hour chrono, three time zones: Zulu (UTC), local and landing airport, day/date/DST for all time zones, and back illumination.
You see where I'm going with this...

Superb!!!!
Sounds like a mission to me, have you found anything remotely suitable???
A pointless quest, alas. Most pilots now use iThings with flight apps, the cockpit panel is stuffed with Garmin Avionics instead of the old 'steam' gauges, moan, grumble, etc. :-)Sounds like a mission to me, have you found anything remotely suitable???
My 'flying' Casio is great for road-trips into Europe though, or collecting Attractive Companion from LHR after she flew to NZ and back via LAX.
Gratuitous 'yesteryear' shot of 1970's ex RAF Jeppersen CSG-9 flight-computer ('Whizz-Wheel') and cheaps Casio:

Had a similar discussion to this, with the scenario of a tradesman turning up to your house in either a brand new shiny van, or an old battered thing.. Different ways of viewing it I supposed, either that they do good work so they earn good money, so can afford new stuff, or they're overcharging and flaunting the money.. I don't think there's a definitive answer really..Good image?
Although my GP who I have to wait weeks to receive a brief, half-effort appointment with, does wear a nice GMT Master 2...
