My planet ocean paulareis homage arrived Friday.

I like the watch but the strap is pretty crap, rubber is way too stiff and I don't like the clasp so I've ordered a black, grey and orange nato and I think it'll work better.
I dont like the strap on mine either... Pictures once you get the nato on it... Would be interested to see how it works...

I'm loving this Aragon Horizon! The quality is unreal...there's some heft to it.

I love how the mother of pearl catches the light. Can't believe I got it for the price I did...I've showed it to a couple of watch loving friends and they guessed it was about £800-£1000, nope, $64 USD! Got my cousin to purchase it for me in the states... She was visiting this month and she brought it over for me. Will defo be looking at more Aragon watches. I would seriously recommend.

Thank you... The pictures don't do it justice at all! I was blown away with it. I really can't overstate the quality and weight of it. Miyota 8N24 movement is superb.

Morning chaps.
Would anyone on here be able to help a friend of mine out, he has one of the Citizen Red Arrows watches and a well known capacitor issue has raised it's ugly head, he was going to do the repair himself but can't get the back off, I've posted a pic of the back below, he's willing to pay to have the capacitor replaced but is being quoted some silly prices, any help would be gratefully appreciated!!!

I guess it’s a screw in case back?

One of those ball things would do it...

This video shows a ball being used to open a screw in case back.

Looking at the photo at the 3 o’clock position it looks like there is a change (indent) in the case I assume it was tried there to open?

Thanks for the info r159, it appears it's not a screw back at all, but a pop back!!! rolleyes That indent you pointed out is in fact the relief to get the tool under and pop the back off!!!

How does Paulareis compare to the likes of Parnis?

Fancy a Patek copy/homage but Parnis is around twice the price of Paulareis. Worth the extra?

Is the Bulova a good buy for it's price tag?
In my experience, yes thumbup

Also, the Bulova Precisionist movement is mesmerising and almost unique.

The Lunar Pilot is Seiko Prospex money, and I have no experience with Bulova, but I do love the design of the watch and I do want one.

Is the Bulova a good buy for the price?
Absolutely.

Remarkable sweeping-hand quartz movement
Excellent finish
Genuine heritage (the story of how Dave Scott wore his on the moon is well worth a read)
About a tenth the price of an Omega MOTM or any of their space Speedmasters
Only watch nerds will know what it is
Often discounted in sales etc.

In the process of ordering watch number 11!!
Let's see if you can guess what it is!!
I don't have the make in my collection.
It's blue and rose gold with a brown leather strap.
It's a quartz.
It's a chronograph.

Yep, it's a technically interesting movement - the 262kHz on the dial refers to the higher than normal quartz frequency which is accurate to a couple of seconds per year.

The chrono seconds hand sweeps smoothly, but unfortunately you can't keep it running - it stops after 1 hour. The running seconds hand ticks twice per second. Not quite enough to give smooth sweep, but something out of the ordinary.

The black version has no date window, a better looking more retro Bulova logo, and tends to look smaller on the wrist.
