Funny you should mention that, i'm in Winchester for a few on Saturday afternoon/evening are you free then? If not we need to get it sorted, let me know when you're free, PM or phone, you have my number!! smile
Good Lord, no! There will be months of preparation. A new wardrobe and so on. And after all that I'm such a cheap date. One sniff of the barmaid's apron and I'm all over the show.

Whereabouts in Winchester? Y'know, just in case.
Well we're heading in around 4pm probably starting in the Exchange at the top of the precinct and the working our way towards the Black Boy for around 7pm, would be good to see you there for a couple!!!!

You know what chaps, we appear to have found a rather nice selection of affordable watches, proof that you don't need to spend a small cars worth on a watch for it to look great, keep good time and still be within a sensible budget, we have everything from Seiko to Bulova and a multitude of choices in between!!!
And Dicky i must say that Longines is a truly elegant looking watch, i reckon i'd be hard pushed not to wear that every day!!!
As for keeping time a £30 Timex quartz will keep better time than an automatic but since when were watches about timekeeping smilesmile

I have a few expensive watches but I have loads of cheapies and love them just as much

Really thrilled with my 44mm Dan Henry which arrived today , ordered from the US but it arrived from Germany so no import charges and only took a week. So makes the grade at £185.44

You get a great watch roll and hard case with it as well

Bought a series of straps for it to try as I'm not a fan of rubber ones but the one that came with the watch was really good quality so I'm in two minds about changing it

Aaahhh ok, I don't swap the straps on my watches so was unaware of these, I take it you have the tool for releasing the pins? How does the Dan Henry feel on the wrist, weight, ETC?

Yes a Bergeon Spring Bar tool but there are cheaper that will suffice , I went for the 44mm as I have a lot of smaller divers and wanted something a little larger , I dont have huge wrists at 7" but its a nice weight and very comfy but I am used to wearing quite heavy watches so don't really notice those on rubber or nato straps

I’ve been looking at these too and this really hasn’t helped! I really like them, especially that colour.

Not sure if this counts as a watch, even though it tells the time.

Withings Activite Pop on a third-party black mesh strap.

The watch comes with a silicone rubber strap, but I found this too thick and it didn't conform with my wrist, so trying this mesh strap instead. Total for the two was just under £50.

The three hands are driven by three separate stepper motors, rather than a gear system linking the hour and minute hands, so the hours and minutes can easily get out of sync. Interestingly, even one or two degrees is noticeable if one of them misses a beat. The minute hand is updated once per minute.

Apologies for the delay replying, been out most of the afternoon/evening.

This is the maker’s site, Maranez watches (but doesn’t look like the Kata is currently available): http://www.maranez.com/watches.php

TZ UK is a watch forum. You need at least 50 posts before you can view the sales forum (it might even be 250 posts now). Main forums are here: http://forum.tz-uk.com/forum.php

The guy running the TZ site also sells a number of different watches here: http://www.timefactors.com
Just tried to log on and found out I am banned for some unknown reason LOL, don't even remember causing any Ag biggrin

Had a small speculative bid as I was sipping a G&T at the airport. Landed and found out I was the proud owner of £101 worth of Citizen Skeleton. I know there's not a lot of love for skeletons around here but I've always wanted one, so be gentle.
It's the later (1974+) 8060 movement at 28'800bph. It's got a bit of the "Citizen" logo covered in some schmoo and some of the lume is flaking a bit, but let's refer to that as "patina". The movement looks very clean and was described as "just serviced".

Welcome seefarr, you'll not get any people being nasty here, this is a thread purely for those of us who like what we like and buy what we can afford!! I must say I've not been that impressed with some of the newer skeleton watches I've seen but that is a lovely looking lump you've bought there, looks like it's got some nice touches on it and the "patina" looks good, I'd happily wear that, I reckon it would look very nice alongside a shirt cuff!!

Cor that looks like a fair old lump!! Not in a bad way, it just looks like a substantial sized watch!!!
I'm currently not allowed to buy any more, a few bottles of whisky(i always assumed these were necessary, not frivolous!!) and a, dare i say it, fitness tracker, have resulted in Mrs Bobbers curtailing my expenditure!!! grumpy

Very nice! I'm a sucker for an orange watch.

I love the orange stitched leather strap. Where did you find that out of interest?
