So I know these watches will be utterly rubbish but even so, how on earth can you make and then sell a steel divers watch for £2.98?

9% discount for multibuy as well!! Perhaps I could get one in every colour for under £20

So my NATO straps turned up. First watch I've had with such a strap, £25 in total. I'm such a cheapskate hehe

You've been had, in the options it's the watch box that's £2.89, the actual watches are a whole £16

So come on then you lot, what do you use to clean and polish your watches? I've found a watch cleaning kit on Ebay for £39.90, but I've heard several people mention the cape cod cloths too!!
Ok. My routine is:

- remove strap or bracelet
- assuming the watch is waterproof, thoroughly clean with a strong degreaser diluted and a soft (unused!) paintbrush
- go round the nooks and crannies of the case with the point of a wooden cocktail stick
- rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth

Then:

-with a Cape Cod cloth, thoroughly polish case and bracelet (this will marginally remove brush finishing on the steel so go easy)
-with the case and bracelet still damp with CC polish, finish off with a stern rub with a dry microfiber cloth

Finally:

-clean thoroughly again in the detergent solution, rinse and dry.
-reassemble and enjoy

This will get a stainless steel dive watch looking pretty bloody good.

If anyone has a hankering for a Steeldive watch, but doesn’t want to order from China, then there’s a guy in Wales selling on eBay who has a decent selection.

nh35.watches

(No connection with the seller BTW)
There is also a steel dive UK site too.

CdG, it involves a furrowed brow and latex gloves.

More, I dare not divulge.

I suspected as much. I have to pay for my simple pleasures these days.

Based in Cardiff apparently; bet it’s the same guy as the eBay listings state Penarth.

Old toothbrush, anti bacterial hand soap, warm water, microfibre cloth to polish.

So here is the £50 Dugena diver, on a Geckota sharkmesh strap that I bought for a few quid in their last sale.

Ideally it needs a new crystal, but the weird crazing on the glass that is so noticeable on the photo is practically invisible in normal light. The iPhone has picked it up miles more than the naked eye.

I’ll change the crystal at some point anyway, when I can be arsed. A mineral crystal is only about €2 on eBay.de and I have a cheap crystal press.

A nice vintage mid-size diver from a decent German brand!

Captain Willard incoming from Steeldive UK.
I know I said I wouldn't but they really are good value for money and PayPal interest free over four months means its £26 a month.
Looking forward to this one.
