Incoming!!!
I've pulled the trigger on a new daily for my stable, i'm defo going to be giving this wrist candy plenty of wrist time!!!!
I now feel really cheap and dirty!!! frown
So i've seen the light and joined all you chaps with Steeldive watches, i've ordered the 1970 Turtle "Captain Willard" in blue, both Mrs Bobbers and i preferred the look of it in blue!!!
Just to demonstrate what you get for your money, heres a comparison between a £400 Seiko Prospex turtle and a £100 Steeldive Willard.

Thanks for that, they really do have quite a following now don't they? Some of the reviewers are stating that the build quality may actually be better then the Seiko and all of them saying that at the price they are why would you want to pay four times the price for the Seiko???

That's kinda quirky, I like it. What was the deal with those, do you know? Gave to staff? Or available as a souvenir kinda thing.

eBay seller reckoned it's a staff watch. It's a Timex under the E branding. I like trains and like watches so it had to be done

I need some help (don’t we all...)

Over the coming weeks/couple months I will be acquiring vouchers to spend frivolously at places like Argos, Amazon, H Samuel, Ernest Jones potentially up to budget of £150 - depending on my level of patience...so obviously a watch is top of the list...

I fancy the Steeldive range but due the restrictions of the vouchers it’s a no go. If it’s an auto needs to have manual wind and quick set date, sapphire nice to have. Not bothered by the Casioak or g shock squares and have a ga-110. I have Daytona and Speedmaster homages and don’t want a Submariner type.

Ones that have caught my eye so far are

Vostok ‘gmt’

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vostok-Komandirskie-Autom...

Tauchmeister 1000m auto

https://www.amazon.co.uk/XL-Automatic-movement-Tau...

This Victorinox
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Victorinox-241516-Origina...

Momentum 200m field watch
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adventure-Momentum-Stainl...

This Spinnaker
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SPINNAKER-Spence-Leather-...

This Orient
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ORIENT-FEM75004B9-Orient-...

Anything else you all can think of that I might have missed bearing in mind limitations on spendy places.

I have a Vostok GMT and a Vostok Amphibian.

I don’t wear the GMT. It’s a nice watch but the bezel renders it pretty useless as a gmt because you can never be sure it’s where you left it.

I wouldn’t buy it again.

Am I right in thinking the 24hr hand is slaved to the normal hour hand rather than independently set?

I’d take the Vostok, because I’ve always fancied one, and for the hilarity of the user guide type thing in one of the pictures

Yep. The bezel shows the destination time.

To be honest, for a useable GMT go quartz, or go expensive.

I have an eye on a Mido Ocean Star gmt but that is well out of thread budget so will stop talking about it right away.

(It’s utter perfection BTW)
