The under £200 watch thread!
Discussion
Well everything sold last night, some for not as much as I'd hope but other stuff did well so I'm not that bothered.
It does mean though that I have not far off £500 in paypal and I'm torn between one 'nice' watch such as a Seiko sbdc055 or a a steinhart 500 premium titanium
https://www.chrono24.co.uk/seiko/6r15-04b0sbdc055p...
https://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/ocean-titanium-...
Or several cheaper more budget friendly ones that I've had my eyes on for a while such as a heimdallr monster, steeldive turtle and a Seiko digi-tuna.
Help a guy out....

If it helps, Steeldive SD1970 is just fantastic, excellent quality and dare I say it, wrist presence!!!It does mean though that I have not far off £500 in paypal and I'm torn between one 'nice' watch such as a Seiko sbdc055 or a a steinhart 500 premium titanium

Steinhart, no contest.
I love mine but rarely wear it.
I shall fire it up for wearing tomorrow.
I'm the opposite, I wear my Steinhart more than any other watch. It looks great, works well but more importantly, it's very robust. I paid £300 new though and they tend to be north of that now. Cheap enough for me not to worry about bashing it though.I love mine but rarely wear it.

My Speedmaster is gorgeous but I bang it on my desk or when I'm putting things in the recycle bin outside, etc. It's too delicate. My other watches are a bit dressy for someone who works from home full time now and my world time watch is pointless now I'm not travelling at the minute. It's the best option for daily life. 300 metres is useful when I'm doing the dishes too ;-)
I certainly am leaning towards a single watch as it's rare for me to have a reasonable lump sum to spend whereas it's more common for me to have a couple of hundred quid spare to buy a cheaper watch.
I really do like the steinhart but the dial on the Seiko is just amazing.
Feel free to make other above budget suggestions guys, generally more diver than dress style but sports style like tag f1 also considered.

Of the two the Steinhart wins hands down for me as a single watch, it's about as versatile as a diver could be with its black dial and zero bling and it's on a bracelet so you have the cheaper option of getting one or two rubber or NATO style straps to change the look.It does mean though that I have not far off £500 in paypal and I'm torn between one 'nice' watch such as a Seiko sbdc055 or a a steinhart 500 premium titanium

If you're looking at that kind of budget I'm going to throw OceanX into the mix, I've two (both Sharkmaster 1000s) and I'm extremely happy with them, in fact one of them has been my most worn watch for the last couple of months. I've Grand Seiko, Tudor and others in the watch box as well, for the £ OceanX stands up well. Yes, they are a bit Rolex-a-like however that's no different to many of Steinhart's offerings.
You'll have to import from the EU, I used seriouswatches.com for one and watchia.com for the other. You won't pay local tax obviously and you should factor in VAT when landed in the UK, whether you'll end up being asked to pay is another matter.

Steinhart all the way.
Getting an ETA 2824-2 elaboré movement for that price is a really decent deal, and the original design works better than their Sub homages.

Swiss Made ETA 2892/SW300 élaboré Premium
Automatic
Is that different to the 2824?
I'm normally an nh35 kind of guy!

Oops, sorry. The 2892 is slightly slimmer/smaller than the 2924 and is (I think) a little more expensive.
The SW300 is the Sellita equivalent.
It’s a lovely thing.
It’s the movement that went in the older Bond Omega Seamaster Professional 300 amongst lots of other watches.
I've just been reading up on it and yes it is a slight upgrade and the more I see about it the more tempted by it I am becoming. The SW300 is the Sellita equivalent.

It would seem over the years it's had a few different movements in it but this latest version seems to be the best.
After losing out on the Citizen Promaster NY0086-16LE on the weekend I've just had an offer accepted on a Citizen Promaster NY0086-83L which has the Pepsi bezel and blue face but a stainless bracelet, which to be honest I would have swapped the original Promaster onto if I'd have won it, it's brand new with tags, supposedly, but is coming in a generic box, so let's see what turns up!!!

The Promaster I bought had a stainless bracelet which was A horribly rattley and B impossible to resize.Trying to push out the folded link connecters knackered one of my Wera screwdrivers which annoyed me so much I took it off and threw it in a drawer.
It looks much better on the rubber strap I put on anyway.
