Thanks to this thread I'm considering getting a Pagani watch. Are the automatic movements in them all by Seiko and therefore actually pretty good quality? Also are any of the models better/worse than the others?
Short answer: it depends.

Chronograph models generally have a Seiko mecaquartz movement (v v v good)

Automatic models are a mixed bag, IIRC. I personally don’t get Chinese auto movements any more as I found them rattly and spinny. NH35 is the way to go, for me anyway.

Check YouTube reviews for the model you’re interested in.

this £45.18 for the casio duro/mv106 on amazon.. rather cheap. does that inccur additional hidden charges?
All charges are included on Amazon global. I got one a couple of weeks back when they were around £37. I never bothered with these before but it's actually a pretty decent watch, especially at that price.

Wow. The Rotary at £99 is decent. It’s definitely one to pick up and have a play with pre-purchase though, I found it felt pretty cheap, although it looks a million dollars in the photos. Just my opinion though.

After looking at those offers posted at H.Samuels earlier I went to have a look at what other offers they have, there's a rather nice Mickey Mouse Eco Drive down from £219 to £109 that appears on Ebay around the £160 mark, and despite being well above thread budget a lovely Ltd Edition Citizen Bullhead down from £695 to a very reasonable £365!!!

Absolutely. I’ve read nothing but good things on here about the UK Steeldive seller in Cardiff.

It’s not really an option for me though as I’m based in Frankfurt but if I were in the UK I’d definitely be buying from him.

You make it sound so refreshingly simple to justify ..... Thing is ... Mrs T6 has a nasty habit of changing the phrase "a very reasonable" into "a completely extravagant" frown

hehe My favorite related quote is still:

"My biggest fear is my wife selling my watches for the price I told her I paid for them."

Well I've placed an order from AliExpress, it's cheaper than similar models from steeldive UK but also for some reason they don't list the green version any more.

I may have ordered an SD1970 in black. Registered a new account and using the new user discount it came to just over £72.

At that price, it seems rude not to really.

I reckon we should all get one and arrange a Steeldive meetup in a carpark somewhere, like the barge thread guys do. I’ll provide the bacon sandwiches.
