No deposit taken. That said I have been a good customer for nigh on 20 years. That, and being a family owned business, makes it easier.
Was actually thinking about the whole deposit thing the other day. Have had a few pals buying Rolex sports watches as new customers and were also surprised that no deposit was taken.I'm guessing with something which is in high demand and easily sold they wouldn't be too worried about getting a deposit. With a deposit I'm guessing they'll have to prove loss of sale / value if you don't go through with the purchase before deducting monies from you. So that in mind, if it's going to easily be sold and there's no loss of sale to prove, I'm guessing they won't need a deposit?

The vast majority.Choosing between a quartz or an 'outdated' mechanical watch is not a matter of life or death.

Ordered one as soon as I saw it at Baselworld, expected to come in June/July. Arrived a little early so picked it up today - beautiful thing! Quick chunky but I like bigger watches and the bezel colours are nice and subdued, rather than a full-on bright red or blue.
Do you mind me asking whether that was through a larger multiple or independent AD. I am top of the list at my local independent AD. It would be great to get a call in the next day or so.
Do you have any pictures sideways on? Interesting to see how tall it sits on the wrist.

I quite like the look of that! Especially the absence of a cyclops. Can you tell us what size wrist you have? Because it does look very large on yours.

It was a multiple although they only have 7 stores. I jumped straight away and paid a deposit to be first in line - would imagine (given other comments above) that most dealers are getting their first watches in today. Will take a sideways picture later on and post it up - it is definitely quick chunky.

Unsure on the exact size by my wrists are relatively small. This is a bad picture though, taken before it was adjusted and in my haste to send pictures round! Can you tell us what size wrist you have? Because it does look very large on yours.

This 'lists' thing is something that (for me personally) spoils the brand, i know some differ and say it enhances desirability, but not for me it doesn't.
I agree.I'm a Rolex fan, and owner of two stainless models, but the whole 'waiting list' thing makes me want to petrol-bomb their Geneva offices.
If a large company mass produces an item, advertises that item, and has a network of dealers to sell that item, then tells me I can't have one when I offer them my money, they can ram it up their arse as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not sure what they have to gain by this. They could practically sell as many as they could produce if they wanted to speed up production.

It keeps second hand prices up there. There watches are only worth what someone is willing to pay. "Exclusivity" keeps this up.I dislike it as well, but it's hard to deny how well it works.
