Normally I'm a dive watch type of person and my collection has always revolved around that sort of style. But more recently I've seen a few colourful chronographs catch my eye.

I normally steer away from them as generally (A few exceptions) they look 'cheap' with the classic triple dial faces and various iterations of the movements across fashion watches and mid-range brands.

So.. having normally stayed away.. these two have recently caught my interest and thought I'd open it up for alternatives.

Up first - the Bell and Ross V2-94 Racing Bird:
https://www.bellross.com/our-collections/vintage/b...

And the Tudor Heritage Chrono:
https://www.tudorwatch.com/watches/heritage-chrono...

As you can see, they are not a million miles away from each other and I clearly have something for Blue, White and Orange!

Price wise they are pretty much identical, although the B&R is limited edition.. so maybe supply is an issue.

Anyway.. thoughts? Alternatives?

My current collection is an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean (42mm black dial with orange numerials, black bezel) and a Tudor Back Bay Steel and Gold on a leather strap... so I feel like another dive watch might be overkill.

I was in the Bremont shop in the Royal Exchange in the City yesterday, early for a lunch so always a great place to go and drool in. They had prototypes of their 'diving/marine' range on display, plus all their current models and chronographs.

I have to say, they're great looking watches. The marketing on the diving/marine range was interesting as they were all in front of a big picture of the Supermarine Schneider cup winning seaplane. As much as I love winding Bremont up a little about image over engineering, I think they've got both spot on now and are a brilliant advertisement for British watch building.

If you haven't already then do check the Tudor in the metal, so to speak. It's not really a white dial, it has a distinct creaminess / off white tone to it that put me off buying one when they first came out. YMMV, of course.

OK, I'll play

Graham Silverstone - Lots of different styles …. Some not as goping as this
But it is White & Blue - Couldn't find a piccy of the new Graham Silverstone RS in white (with a slightly less horrid dial)

Less in your face but with a bit of colour
Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback Rainbow

Personally I really like the B&R ….. Surprising as I'm not a B&R fan thumbup

Found piccy

Bell & Ross make great watches smile

As do Tudor, I have never seen that particular B&R in the flesh but the Tudor has screw in Chrono pushers, this has stopped me buying one. Lovely looking watch, but it has a modular movement so servicing might be an issue in the future.

Tudor for me too, although I prefer the black/grey/orange colour combo they do.

I have one of these.

OK, Tag isn’t the most highly regarded brand out there but this watch is a good one. It’s a carrera with links to the race. It also has the stop watch face with 60 instead of 12. Finally, it’s a decent watch. It has the el primero flyback movement. Not as colorful as you had originally asked but still a nice watch.

Err; Pistonheads, the coolest guy ever, the best film ever, and a 'sporty chronograph' made by TAG:

McQueen's made by Heuer, not Tag.

Heuer are cool; Tag are not.

Good point. Let me correct my sentence:

Pistonheads, the coolest guy ever, the best film ever, and a 'sporty chronograph' now made by TAG

This thread has not helped, only reminded me how much I like the Tudor Chrono. Then I walk past Fraser Hart and they had them reduced in the window to £2,560. So I bought one. I think thats great value.

Crown and pushers on the wrong side for a desk diver. Would drive me to distraction!
