Also, this site is based in Moorgate, which has a Rolex GMT Pepsi (Mint but 2005) and an unworn Tudor GMT Pepsi.

Very - my local AD has lots in the window, and I'm sure more in the safe.

The question is, would you want "a" Rolex, or a particular model? You can buy a Rolex today - something like this is reasonably available:

https://www.rolex.com/watches/oyster-perpetual/m11...

If you want a gold one, that's really, really easy, albeit expensive. wink

If you want a stainless steel sports model like a GMT or Submariner, that's going to be more of a challenge!

What would you value a 2004 gmt Pepsi that’s just been serviced? Like new with box & papers?

Have a look at WF/Blowers etc...and subtract £2-3000 from the asking price if you're looking to sell to the trade.

Where is the best place (northern England) to view the biggest range? Most keepers have the usual and quite plain strap / face combos, whereas the photos in magazines have more unique ones. I particularly like the light blue with lines face but have never seen it in the flesh.

Most will have plenty of watches in stock just no S/S sports watches apart from maybe an Explorer 2

More craziness, you can't even look at a SS sports watch at an AD to decide if you want to buy one.

Clearly if you have to see one to decide if you want one, you’re not Rolex material. wink

More seriously, if there’s a waiting list then the question is moot, isn’t it? If you think you might want one, join a list and then see if you like it when you reach the front of the queue. If you don’t, the person behind you in the queue gets to make the same decision, etc.

Theres no cost to you for joining the list, and as you can’t buy one today whether you like it or not doesn’t matter - you’re not being asked to purchase today. Arguably it’s an advantage - if fashions have changed by the time you’re able to buy one, you may have avoided an expensive mistake. wink Depends on the reason you wanted one in the first place...

I'm not a waiting list kinda guy tbh, what's more, the one watch I ordered unseen turned out to be an expensive mistake.

I'm not going to "wait" to see if I like something.

Feeling the size and weight, looks is the only way for me to tell whether I want something. I have since found it's the 40mm Rolexes that I like, the perfect size for me, not OTT looking and lighter/lower profile.

We were in Geneva recently and i never saw a steel Sub or a Daytona.

Plenty of bi metal . I reckon you would need to get friendly with an AD to get a few early calls for a sub.

I was lucky , just landed a GMT Root beer at list , the AD contacted me and although they hold onto the registration/warranty card for 12 months and give you a photocopy , purely to stop people making a quick 4 grand on a stickered up unworn GMT.

If i were you i would look for a 14060 2 liner. Best shape and clean dial. Fullet would set you back around 5450 ish. Maybe a bit less.

Good luck!

I have a few ceramic bezels and I also got a 14060M exactly a year ago and despite the clinky bracelet it’s probably the one I’d keep if I had to choose just ONE!

I’ve got one of those fresh from a Rolex service. Not sure what to do with it now. Sell or hold onto it.

Whenever I have bought a secondhand Rolex, having a recent manufacturers warranty and guarantee has been important. How important is it to others?

Just order one from China https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/2017-Tevi...

On your wrist in a couple of weeks for less than parking near an AD silly
but at least you'd be able to tell if you want a real one.

I've been hankering over a hulk for a while but just not sure on the colour so I've last week ordered a Tisell hulk direct from them to try and it should be here this week....little pricier around £270.

Thats 270 quid you could have put to a Hulk!

There are several variations of the Hulk. The last ones being Maxi case like the 114060. The earlier ones had the older Tuna bracelet and slender lugs with different and rarer font on the Bezel. These go for 10k plus for a fullset.

I have one of the very first Sub Hulk's in the country (I believe). I bought it in November 2011. Will this be one of those you're talking about ?

You're confusing the The Hulk with The Kermit, all hulks (green bezel/green face) are maxi case 6 digit references, the previous 5 digit reference models are kermits green bezel/black face.
