Have been wearing a Seiko SKX009 for a week now while snorkeling in Mallorca. It's been an excellent choice for a holiday watch and the rubber strap has been very comfortable. My only criticism is that the hands are not as legible as I would like. I would like to replace them with lumed sword style hands. Something like the CWC Diver type. Something big and easily readable in and out of the water. Can anyone suggest someone who could supply and fit.

I would suggest dagazwatch.com or dlwwatches.com for custom skx parts. There are several others. Search google for skx custom parts, it's a booming business, and you probably wont end at hands.

You may have to get a local watchsmith to fit them though. Or watch several youtube vids and try your self. I did with mine and it's not as hard as you may think.

Saw this thread earlier, but I really struggle to think of hands that will be more readable than the standard SKX combination. Lume and contrast are great, hands are very chunky... seems near impossible to improve on imho.

Yeah, suspect the sword hands (of which I prefer, style-wise) are thinner than the standard SKX hands.

Thanks for the info. I will look into that. Not averse to trying to fit them myself.
My eyesight is not as good as it used to be. I have found that the hands are quite dull compared to the hour markers. Not helped by the stainless edging to the hands. Especially in strong sunlight. In the dark they are absolutely fine.
