Neither do I!

I've got a lot on at the moment, taking the other half to NYC in June, new bathroom, drive getting done...... I really should be watching my pennies.

Feel free to pm me if you want a couple of NY tips (if you’ve not been before).

Thanks for the offer. We were there in December (got to see the Rockerfeller tree turn on) and got engaged at the top of the Empire State, loved every minute of it. Heading back to do some more warmer weather things in June such as explore more of Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge walk, Woodberry Common etc. Then we head back in December again for a pre Christmas break!

Farer has to be one of the most 'complete' and considered packages out there in the micro world. The aesthetic is genuinely fresh and the product is very appealing to me.

What I don't get is the frankly Disneyland pricing.

How did they decide their basic steel and leather watches with generic movements cost a grand, while most competitors fall around half that?

What am I missing?

I'm a big fan of their watches although admittedly I only have two quartz models -a Frobisher II and an Ainsdale. These are fairly pricy for quartz watches but the quality is spot on and I love the designs and colours.

Compared to entry-level models from the well-known big brand watches (well known to the average Joe, rather than to the average watch enthusiast) I think Farer's prices for mechanical watches are very reasonable. I guess you may be paying a premium for the design, but the quality and the finishing looks fab.

I would love to have several of their mechanical models - a Hecla, an Oxley and a Segrave would do me nicely wink

Lander Chrono, Oxley, Leven and Stanhope for me. The flyback chronos look cool too from the Instagram videos pushed at me.

I think they're great alternatives for certain aesthetics. Nomos comes to mind and they cost factors more but have in-house and far more credibility.

I will have to make an appointment to handle them and go from there.

Farer: Nice but can't see myself ever buying one. Bit like a Morgan 4/4 .

I really like those, I almost ordered one recently. Be interested to see what you think.

OK, first thing first, nice packaging, my wife really liked this when the box opened. (Bonus!)

On the wrist it really is as good as you thought, better in fact due to the detailing and after an evening's wear, it seems to get better and better.
First watch with a Miyota movement which seened to take a fair while longer to wind than other ETA or Sellita hand wind movements that I have. I'm rubbish at watch photos, but it's seriously photogenic.

If you're interested in one, go for it. Hard to believe you can get something that has such a good feel/look/rarity about it for £299 delivered. If you like watches, you will like this, that's the feeling you get about Marloe.

Seriously nice watch.

Blurry (too much wine laugh) lume pic, but you get the idea. smile

Greendubber, go for it!

To be critical, the leather strap was a little stiff, but haff an hour watchiing telly and massaging the strap cured it so it sits nicely on the wrist.

Been a bit uninspiring lately, the microbrand world, but have taken a liking to this and added myself to the waiting list for a Duneshore.

Keep thinking about a brass Magrette too. scratchchin

Magrette don't do brass any more. They did once when they were incorrectly supplied with brass cases rather than the bronze they were expecting. Their bronze watches are proper bronze now.

The Visitor is very uniquely shaped. I like it very much especially the concave back, very clever. Enjoy.

I really fancy a cheapish tourbillon, and don’t want to buy direct from China for warranty purposes. Waldhoff seem to have a bit of background beyond just picking from a catalogue, so I’ve just backed the Vanguard on Kickstarter for a bit over £700.

Completely different to my other watches, and it might be junk, but I bought into the watchuseek advertorial hype. Pics will follow when it arrives.

In my semi drunken browsing state, I missed the size and thought it was 40mm. 44mm is far too big for me and would probably look a bit ungainly on me. frown
