Just picked up from the watch repairer - first time worn “in anger” for probably 20 years!!

My Dad’s old Smiths Imperial from 1958. Treated it to a new Hirch leather strap too.

What a lovely thing to have.

Hopefully my kids and the their kids will be posting similar pictures after I’ve gone.

It was his 18th birthday present, 9ct Gold. After Grandad retired from the Met he was “head of security” for smiths, so either got a good discount or found an open drawer hehe

Love the unrestored “patina” of the dial

Also have grandad’s Smiths Everest but that’s proving harder to source parts to restore without wreaking another working example.

Today it’s my daily wear ZeTime hybrid smart watch. Real hands and a touchscreen. Sort of a work tool as I can read emails discretely in meetings etc. There are 1000’s of faces but I like this one, I think it suits the watch. Sometimes I have a face based on a Lancaster bomber rev counter.

The first 'proper' watch I bought around fifteen years ago, still going strong.

It’s the 44mm. I was one of the early Kickstarter backers. Most of the glitches are now sorted.

Actually today is the first time I have seen someone else (apart from a work colleague who liked mine) wearing one.
