I started off the new year wearing my Yachtmaster which I acquired a few weeks ago and it has just returned from a service/polish. I am now wearing nothing as the tears streaming down my face would make a watch an impossible to read option. The bracelet came apart and the watch dropped off and I was so cold (out with the dogs) I didn't flaming notice until back to the car.
Edit, not as bad as it sounds, we searched and found the watch and we also found the miniscule threaded pin that had come out. I am utterly amazed at finding the watch and totally 'gobsmacked' that we found the screw as well. Just got to find a screw driver small enough to fit and all will be good once more.
That is a Happy New Year!
Yikes! I lost a Breguet. Twice. Once permanently. Edit, not as bad as it sounds, we searched and found the watch and we also found the miniscule threaded pin that had come out. First time playing golf in France - I noticed on maybe the 9th hole that it wasn't on my wrist, so the 4 of us scoured the previous holes and found it in the rough (I had been playing badly, which made the search more difficult). Finally lost it when I fell out of my boat on the Solent - it lies on the bottom somewhere.
Glad you found yours and amazed you also found the screw. Can you Loctite the screw in? I am sure there must be a gentle locking compound available that would stop it backing out in future....

That is fab - always fancied one when they were launched, but never acquired one Giving this an airing today:
Leonidas Chronograph from my Grandfather. I have the original paperwork which dates it back to 1949 (so turns 70 this year!). I've replaced the plexi and strap, but everything else is original. It won't have had a service in at least 25 years, but still keeps good time.
The invoice is from an Arthur Saunders jeweller on Southampton Row in London - doesn't look like it exists anymore.

It is a Phoibos Wavemaster.
AN AMAZING OCTOPUS LOGO, wave dial, sapphire crystal, chunky engineer bracelet, lumed ceramic bezel, Seiko nh35/8, pretty good specs for under £200
