Saw this in the shop window earlier and couldn't resist it...
That is a pretty stunning watch, and rightfully in high demand. Did you pay RRP?
Walked past and apparently it came into stock yesterday so very lucky!
Don't think the waiting list is too bad at all now however regardless 🙂
Still want a Rolex by the age of 30 but this is bloody close and gives me another 3 years to save up!

Problem is, you will save your eight grand, walk into a dealer and ask for a watch and they won’t be willing to take your money and sell you what you want to buy.The Rolex planet is a very strange one!

Do you think Beaverbrookes would put me on a list I have had a Tag F1 and a Tudor from them in the past

I have tried to get on a waiting list and they won't even let me do that without buying a couple of more undeseriable ones...

I am not an expert on the situation in the UK, but I would imagine that your proposed purchase being three years away could work to your advantage. Perhaps just go and have a chat in a couple of dealers from time to time, mentioning your ambition to get a Rolex and when you plan to do so. It may well be that you eventually get a call and can just go in and collect.Do you think Beaverbrookes would put me on a list I have had a Tag F1 and a Tudor from them in the past
I stopped by the Rolex dealer in the cruise port in Barbados yesterday, they get another stock delivery in January, they told me, and the staff do a raffle to choose which one gets to supply the watch! AFAIUI they will make some calls to customers on a list who have expressed an interest in a steel sports model, but said if nobody had agreed to go ahead and I were to show up at the right time in those circumstances with the funds, they would ‘let me buy one’.
It's amazing, really, the whole situation!

My first watch from them 2 years ago was a Black Ceramic Daytona (for my 30th) and have since had a DJ41Wimbledon and just picked up a BLNR all within 2 years.
Lovely to deal with, no snobbery or striking up a relationship / buying lesser watches first!

It may be less than 3 years but I certainly need to wait for another 12-18 months to keep the GF happy!

I currently own a Tudor Black Bay Blue and a Tudor Pelagos (Left Hand Drive version), but also had at the same time a Rolex Sub (hulk) and before that a Sub no date, both of which were the modern larger case ceramic models. I managed to wear the Rolex watches just a couple times and then quickly sold them. I kept the two Tudors. The Tudors are much more wearable day to day, less flash, less bling, while still being top quality.
I've simply found that the current sports rolexes have become blingy statement jewelry pieces, while the 'equivilent' Tudor versions are more asthetically pleasing and more tool like (exactly like the older aluminium bezel rolexes used to be).
Each to their own, but if you have the confidence to ignore the 'poor man's rolex' opinion, you might just find the Tudor is the one to have....

Assuming you covet either a Rolex GMT or Submariner/Seadweller, then my experience might make your wait for one of those less painful/frustrating...
