Just wondering how many of you wear your expensive watches regardless of what you are doing ,banging in nails, fixing the car ,painting the house etc etc etc. I am considering buying a Tudor Bay as an every day watch, I currently wear a seiko skx that I do everything in and It seems to be fairing well ,has a little nick here and a little scratch there but overall still in good nick and I don't care about It as its only a cheap watch.
My thinking is I have spent so many years cosseting things that I neglected to actually enjoy them for what they are,I have a mint 80s airking date thats in its box and I dont wear It as I do not like It that much so would sell as part towards the Tudor, I like the Rolex sub but dont fancy getting mugged for it either so It would be of interest to see how many people just wear there watches regardless.

I wear mine all the time - Casio F-91W-1YEF.

Even kept it on for a night out round Shorditch & Basildon.

Depends on what you class as expensive.

My TAG Carrera never leaves my wrist apart from when I’m asleep or in the gym/swimming.

Not sure whether I’d feel the same with a £10k Panerai though!

Watches are fairly tough depending on their original purpose.

I know several guys at work who wear expensive watches, a mix of Bremonts, Omega, Tag and I know one guy who wears a Sub to work.

They are all fire arms officers so not desk divers either!

My brother, who is a builder, wore his Omega Seamaster while working for 15 years, and put it in the dishwasher to clean it! It looks as good as new!!!!

I wear my watch for everything. I do occasionally take it off if fiddling around under the bonnet and I know it's going to be tight/dirty (old XJ-S V12 so always!). Either a Daytona, Yachtmaster or a Zenith.

Datejust or Sea Dweller, all day every day. Don't get me wrong, if I'm shoving my arm under some floorboards I'll more than likely remember to take it off and set it to one side but I generally wear one all the time.

Having said that I remember taking the Sea Dweller off while knocking a fireplace out a few properties ago and living the thing on a bag of multi-bond in a very loosely secured victorian town house over night!

I wear a Tudor Heritage chrono every day. It gets battered, but it goes into Rolex every few years for a full refurb

No point in having these things if you don’t enjoy them

You've got to be careful where you wear the -1YEF model of the Casio F91W as it's the variant with the remote activated smart bomb homing circuitry hidden in it. The F91W became very popular with certain types of people after a certain chap with a long beard was photographed wearing one. I can't remember what the Y and E stand for, but the F is Fu<#ked.

I wear my Sinn UX for pretty much anything, but then I suppose it's meant to be a slightly tougher watch than most.

The Speedy Pro gets taken off for anything remotely dangerous!

Generally I think just wearing it regardless is the best option - I wore a Breitling Colt for the best part of 10 years, anything and everything - still looks great today.

I wear my Daytona as often as possible, but for fixing helicopters I sensibly put on my G-Shock, and if it's a very tight space I'm in, I take that off. There's nothing macho about scratching a watch at work, for me.

A couple of my watches are worn when I know they’re unlikely to be knocked/damaged. However my Omega Planet Ocean has survived all sorts! I’m not too bothered, mainly as I know it can withstand it! Marks/scratches are considered character/patina ... hehe

I'm a precision engineer and my GMT II lives on my wrist unless I'm in the shower or washing up at the end of a shift.

About once a year I remember to dip it in G850 cleaner and then rinse in warm water which then becomes very black warm water.

I think Im more interested to hear about the wearer who doesn't care about scratches and wear, as I believe that is what years ago the manufacturers intended us to do .

I take mine off working on the car not so much to prevent damage to the watch but to prevent damage to the car or the risk of catching across a live 12v supply (had that happen once - the bracelet got very hot very quickly and was hard to get off). For the same reason I don't wear it working on anything near exposed mains.

I don’t wear a watch around the house or for garden, garage or car washing duties.

I wore a Breitling Aerospace every day for 15 years and it fared better than the Tudor did over 3 years...
