Hi - am looking at getting a orient Mako and as usual Creation have the lowest price. In the past they used to offer an option of royal mail where it was said there is more chance of getting lucky with no import duty. but i cant see that option anymore. anyone ordered from there recently?

secondly how do i calculate roughly the import duties if i have to pay it? Will DHL express have their own charge?

thanks

I don't know about the RM option but there's no duty collected, you'll just be charged 20% VAT & around £15 handling charge.

Casio World Time A500 (£21) sent via 'signed for' by Creation. Arrived via postman, with no further fees.

Last month I had to pay customs fees for a G Shock I ordered from Creation.

As above 20% VAT on the total, declared value (including shipping charge if any) plus the couriers handling fee. I bought a Seiko SKX from Creation a couple of years ago and the courier (DHL, IIRC) wouldn't leave it unless I paid cash.

I then bought another SKX from Toby deals which was a little cheaper than creation and no VAT/charges.

Good shout, after many years being watch-less, a few years ago I suddenly fancied a watch; divers style, I ummed and ahhed for ages between a Seiko and an Orient, in the end plumping for a Mako XL.

Whilst it has been surpassed now by my Galaxy Gear S3, I still get it out occasionally, it's a fantastic watch which I feel just seems to cheap for the quality with the only real let down being the bracelet being a bit cheap feeling, however for the money what can you expect.

I hope you enjoy it OP.

Got mine off Amazon, however looking at the Creation website, it appears they seem to have gone up in price as I seem to remember paying about £130 for mine.
