Not done an SOTC for a while, so here's the current collection.

This is about my 4th G-Shock - finally got one that's not too big

My first Zenith, picked up last year & I love it

Reacquired this from the person who bought it off me 9 years previously

Took me a while to track one of these down in the right condition, for the right price

Probably the last watch I'd sell - The 16600 is just perfect

Quite a rare version of the FF. A much better size for me than the regular version, although 42mm would be even better.

I only have the PRS18 auto (on the left). The COSC Quartz version got almost no wear

Another requisition

This was a cheapy & has served me really well as my holiday watch including the epic motorcycle tour of Vietnam I did with my eldest son in 2018

I had a few of the re-edittion Turtles, but this one has stuck

I'd been without a Speedy Pro in the collection for several years before picking this mint condition one up

This was a slightly over-list replacement for one I (foolishly) sold a couple of years earlier

I've had this little gem for a while. The dial and hands are just beautiful.

I'm a big Sinn fan - had all these a few years now

Just about the last watch IWC made that I really like

The Autavia's

The perfect (for me) version of the Orfina PD chrono

I paid strong money for this at the time, but that's irrelevant now. It's a full collectors set including case back stickers & the original purchase receipt.

The only watch I've ever had made for me

A lovely un-restored 6309 - 7040

Three I keep for sentimental reasons

I've just sold a Seiko Samurai & have a blue dialled Sinn U1 on the way.

These days I try to keep to one in / one out, but deciding which to let go gets harder all the time.
Gorgeous watches, but what impresses me more is your consistent ability to take such superb photographs. Would you care to give any hints as to your technique.

You arrived home financially poorer, but immeasurably richer. Or something.

Anyway, two lovely watches there to add to a delightful collection!

Most of my collection: going to trim it down to focus on Seiko/Grand Seiko. Will keep some of my others.

Lovely selection seadragon. I often think about how to focus, but tend to get one watch at a time, that meets my "needs".

GS and Seiko present so many amazing options. They're really clever (or accidentally successful) at keeping releases interesting and geographically different. I will have a Spring Drive at some point soon but am waiting to see whether the Four Seasons make their way over officially.

Where did you source your new Snowflake?

Hi Rich, thanks. I am getting the new flake from someone who is from the states originally, but lives in Japan. He is buying one for himself and 2 others. It's very well priced, so will be silly not to attempt to buy one, but of course being what it is, it will rocket in value like the SBGA129 has. I will wear it of course, but I'll probably just stare at it for a few weeks first :-) .

I definitely love the Seiko/GS watches. It's nice there is much snobbery surrounding the brand, because those of us in the know realise how beautiful they are and the workmanship that's gone into them. It means not as much competition buying nice ones, waiting lists etc (except for the Japan only editions of course). I come across ones I haven't seen before each day and I am totally amazed, especially those in the SBGA and SBGJ series.

I probably prefer spring drive myself, but any GS is quality

Well I am also on an Omega forum and many users slate Grand Seiko as a £200 watch. That snobbery !!

That's ignorance rather than snobbery. But I suppose I see what you mean.

Yeah you are right, but makes for some interesting chats haha. It doesn't matter to me, but I guess we all have our preferences

Ok I'll post up my little collection, nothing over £400RRP and in reality I've not paid more than £200 for any of them.

From left to right,
Rotary Chronospeed
Timex Indiglo Expedition All Black
Timex Indiglo Expedition Classic
Accurist Skymaster
Diesel (Left hooker)
Sekonda chronograph 3101
Casio Edifice
Pulsar chronograph Pu2082X1
Mickey mouse watch (Christmas present from my wife as she insists no watch collection is complete without one!)

Again left to right,
Citizen NH8381-64L
Seiko "Hulk" SRPB93K1
Bulova Futuro
Bulova Adventurer
Fossil Machine Q Hybrid smartwatch (daily)
A couple of really tacky cheap Curren watches bought just to see how cheap they really were!!!
Certainly not in the league of most here but it's a collection of watches that I can afford and which mean something to me.

Thanks richthebike, I'm on a short watch buying sabbatical at the moment as I'm saving for a Tissot T-Classic perpetual calendar for my 50th in August, the Bulova Futuro was supposed to be for it but H Samuel had it massively reduced last month so I bought it now instead!!
Your collection is bloody lovely mate, some cracking watches there!!!

Great thread! Love seeing your above collections (whether it’s 1 or 100, £50 or £50,000) they all have a story behind them. Apologies I wrote way more than I intended! And for the crooked pictures grumpy

“The Favourite” - Kenneth Cole Reaction – My parents gave this to me on my 14th birthday and I wore it as a daily for years. Now it’s a special occasion watch, most recently worn on my wedding day!

“The One from the Brother” – Rotary Chronospeed – An unexpected birthday gift from my brother which was originally on a black leather strap and didn’t get worn a huge amount. Now on a perforated red strap, I wear it when I want to add a splash of colour to my outfit (unfortunately that’s very rare!)

[url]

“The poor man’s Richard Mille” – Kenneth Cole Automatic Skeleton KC1791 – The first time I visited Vegas, I came across the Richard Mille Store at Crystals. Although out of reach (both then and now) I fell in love with the skeleton design and when I saw this at the Outlets, I had to pick it up. I added a blue suede strap to further pay a distant homage to the colourful RMs.

“The Impulse Buy” – Timex Archive Camper MK1 – I saw this in a shop in Norfolk but couldn’t justify buying it. Shortly after I saw it in the sale at Mr Porter and bought it on a whim. I didn’t get on particularly well with its dainty size so it rarely makes an appearance which is a shame as I think it looks really quite cool.

“The Work Watch” – Tudor Pelagos LHD – I treated myself to this when I bought my wife’s engagement ring. I love the look on the rubber strap and the matt finish of the bezel and face – the crown on the left-hand side also gives a unique look. I wear this for work a lot, as it flies under the radar quite well, but those who know watches seem to really appreciate it!
“The ‘Investment’” – Tudor Black Bay GMT – I have put investment in inverted commas, as this is how I justified to myself buying this watch! I have on and off days with this one, sometimes it just doesn’t look right on me. But when I do wear it, it gets a lot of attention (understandably, it’s a really lovely design).

“The Fake” – Didun Design Royal One Offshore – From a distance, it could just about pass as the real deal (I wore it as a knockabout in Ibiza last year and somebody told me I was crazy for wearing an AP on a rowdy stag do!) It’s a real stretch to call this a homage – it’s a cheap copy in reality, but I bought it off eBay to make sure I got on with the size and weight of a bigger watch before finally taking the plunge with…

“The (never going to be used as a) Diver” – Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver – After deliberating for about 2 years, I finally bought this late last year. It is as beautiful in the flesh as I hoped it would be. Every little part of the watch stands out in its own right, such as the ‘Mega Tapisserie’ dial, or the stunning movement visible through the open case back. It’s the ‘rubber strap’ member of my own holy grail of 3 watches I’d wanted to own for years, which includes the next two pieces.

“The Dress Watch” – Cartier Santos 100 XL – I love getting suited and booted and wanted a watch to fit the occasion. I’ve always been fond of the Santos and although it took a while to get used to the size, I really enjoy wearing this watch and admiring the curved design and sapphire crown – the bezel scratches like a b**ch though!

“The Daily” – Rolex Submariner Date 116610LN – In my teens, I worked in a pub where the owners were very successful businessmen and all had Rolex’s – one of them had the black face sub date and since then I always aspired to own one. After working and saving extremely hard for years to buy my house, I treated myself to a brand-new sub, the first of a few from my AD. I was so precious with it for months, putting it back in its box every night along with the bezel guard, outer box and slip (yes…I know). I then scratched the clasp by the pool on holiday and realised it was not the end of the world. It is now ‘well used’ and has so many great memories attached to it. This is the one that will go to my kids – it has to, now I’ve written all that!

“The Unexpected One” – Rolex GMT Master II 126710BLNR ‘Batman’ – I love the Rolex SS design but couldn’t justify a GMT before given its close resemblance to the sub. I know the jubilee bracelet can prove a bit marmite with some but I think it works so well with the black and blue bezel and really stands out as something special. I went on the ‘list’ after seeing this at Baselworld and shortly after received a call to ‘get here tomorrow if you want it’. I did, and I love it. My best mate does too and can’t get hold of one for love nor (sensible) money. Oh well!

Please post more of your collections!

Thanks. Getting everything into one place for a photo is a bit indulgent, but I'll have a go later.

I'm always interested to hear about other people's collections. Mine is quite dive heavy, but it's what I like.

I've found that a "one in, one out" policy is essential for maintaining some sort of rotation. The sad fact is that any watches that don't go with a white shirt in a work setting are probably destined for occasional use.
I am also a 'dive heavy' purchaser but not because I am a diver, rather because I am quite heavy with watches and don't treat them with kid gloves. If a watch can't take wear and tear and be worn at all times (not taken off, even when asleep, as I can't trust myself not to leave it somewhere on a sink or bedside table!). My Breitling Superocean Heritage is by far my favourite watch (blue face and bezel). I never buy chronographs as I can't abide the 'fussiness' of all the dials.

For the more classic look have you checked out Dornbluth & Sohn? Very nice and certainly in the budget of the watches you already own. You'll have to wait a while after you've chosen your options but Dirk makes it a very pleasant and engaging experience to buy. You can even visit the 'factory' to collect your watch.

Nice collection by the way!
