My AD fully knows every “allocation” model they are receiving this calendar year, except new launch models from Baseworld. Other models can be ordered as usual .
Really? I’ve known 3 managers very well at 3 different “ADs”, they all told me that they know NOTHING until a FAX / Email arrives a few days before the watches arrive and even then they almost never get everything that was on the list!

Purchased a Bi metal Daytona at Gleneagles , they showed me an allocated Root beer. I told them i loved it and keep me in mind if another was to come along.
Fast forward literally 4 days later i received a call saying another had appeared at the boutique and if i were interested they would set it aside.

I guess that they knew i was serious due to purchasing a Daytona previously . They never know what models are coming in and are often asked via other dealers if they have a certain model in stock.

Theres no secret stash under the counter of stainless sports models and hardly a waiting list. If you turn up with the readies they will sell to whoever.

Im not sure how other AD's work , this is just my own experience. I will never go on a waiting list though .
AFAIK, the ‘Root Beer’ isn’t in as high demand, so they are seen more regularly than their SS cousins. I’ve certainly tried one on in my AD that was sat there waiting for a new owner to come along. Lovely thing certainly, but just not for me so I respectfully declined.

If your AD is independent (not a group shop like WoS) then from Jan 2020, AD's now know the quantity of hot models they will receive during the year. However, they only know the quantity but not the delivery schedule during the year. At least now they have some information as to quantity they will receive and hopefully, we can get a more accurate wait time. That's if they actually follow their list or have one!
