What's your favourite watch name?

- should be an official model name (no Tunas or Pepsis)
- has to refer to a model or model line
- tell us why you like it

I'm really drawn to dive watches, and like names that refer to the environment, rather than the profession...

As a watch name, I love Superocean. I care less for Submariner, but love Seadweller. Seamaster is great, Aquaracer... not so much.

The S word gives us Seadragon, Seawolf, Sharkhunter, Seastar and Searambler. I have a Searambler, and would love an original Seawolf!

Away from the water, Rolex give us two killers - Milgaus and Explorer.

Daytona, Carerra, Monaco, Monza, Montreal etc don't do too much for me, because they're diluted by other uses.

As for my favourite, Speedmaster is in with a shout, but if I had to pick one it would be Marinemaster.

Marinemaster is a favourite of mine as well though it has been used on more than one of Seiko's range. For example, both my old SBDX001 and my current SBBN031 have Marinemaster on the dial however they're completely different watches, all be it both divers.
I think Seadweller ultimately steals it for me as, more than other water/sea related names, it just sounds like it was born to never be out of the water. Speedmaster has appeal, especially with the space connection (and depending on the inflection used to say it - Speeeedmaster sounds kinda cool), however the name has been spread over too wide a range of Omega chronos.

Not really a Rolex fan in any shape or form but the name Yacht-Master conjures up images of a cool 1960s playboy driving down to the Riviera in a front engined V12 Ferrari. I'd like one just for that. hehe

You make a good case. Rather ironically, that Ferrari you may be referring to, the 365 GTB/4, was nicknamed Daytona rather than ever being officially called it.

I think IWCs Yacht Club trumps the Rolex offering here!
I bought a blue dial one just for the name. Super cool.

Agree with you on all of this. Seadweller is so apt.
I had a similar Marinemaster spread to yours, having an SBBN013 and an SBDX017 at the same time. The 17 has stayed, wish i still had the 13!

For me it is the Speedmaster. Best name, although I may be biased as it’s my “nice” watch.

I quite like Railmaster.

It conjures up images of Swiss trains leaving and arriving on the exact second.

British Railmaster, on the other hand...

Without a shadow of doubt it has to be 'Flying Panda'.

And back in the real world, Superocean.
