Is the Sinn the one with oil filled dial? Those are quite mega I recall!
Looks very similar however it's the UX range that are oil filled, bazza's model there is the U2 There's a small and not very obvious giveaway in his 'photo that the U2 isn't filled with oil - if you look closely you can just about make out the pale blue copper sulphate capsule just below the 6 marker, that's there to absorb any moisture present in the air within the case when the watch is assembled plus any that should accidently find its way into the case after.
Edit to add that 'Ar' is also printed on the dial, that represents the air dehumidifying technology present. These cases used to be purged with argon however Sinn use a different gas now, the idea being that there shouldn't be any moisture in the case from the get-go.

Impressive technologies used by Sinn cheers for the clarification! Always liked them and would have had one by now but the models I did like before were all over 40mm size sadly. There's a small and not very obvious giveaway in his 'photo that the U2 isn't filled with oil - if you look closely you can just about make out the pale blue copper sulphate capsule just below the 6 marker, that's there to absorb any moisture present in the air within the case when the watch is assembled plus any that should accidently find its way into the case after.

No worries. They do have a belt & braces approach with many of their models, much of it is marginal gains however it's the sum of the parts that count.Edited by robbiekhan on Tuesday 16th February 23:33

Blimey.I could just about be trusted with a basic Casio at that age!
Lovely story and watch
You must have been the sauvest kid in the playground Arty!
It's incredible how fresh the JLC's design is today.

its only 41mm and around 11.5mm thick but the case can take 11km of watch pressure
In 2008 the UX replaced this and is known as the EZM2b the watch is bigger at 44mm
Both watches are used by the German GSG9 and ZUZ special forcers
I did an in depth video of the EZM2 here is the link https://youtu.be/oj9Z_cccXzQ
