Help me find a watch 2.5-3k
Discussion
Hi All,
I have come into some money recently and with an upcoming wedding I thought I would treat myself to a watch upgrade, previously I have always had citizen, etc but looking for something to keep long term. I have a larger wrist so go for 40-45mm cases and prefer metal bracelets.
I have 2.5-3k to spend but could push it for something special and I'm not against second hand.
I started off looking online at the usual places and liked the below watches but then got lost in the world of chrono 24 looking at stuff like Tudor Pelagos which seems to get good reviews.

https://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/TAG-Heuer-Aquaracer-4...
https://www.chrono24.co.uk/tudor/tudor-pelagos-256...
Thanks!

I own an Aquaracer and I'm waiting for shops to reopen with a view to buying a Pelagos, I just want to be able to try it on and look at it in person rather than buying online.
For me the Aquaracer is a very nice watch, there is a bit of snobbery around Tag among some watch enthusiasts but I love mine and wear it daily.
I see the Pelagos as a level above the Tag and a lot more special.
If you can find a Seamaster in budget they are worth a look too, I owned one for 10 years and it was a very nice watch but I decided it was time for a change.

I’d carry on getting lost on Chrono24 until the right thing stands out. It’s great for search parameters to narrow down exactly what you want.
I would, and have, go for a Breitling Chronomat keeping safely within budget. Others see them as too bling, the Superocean heritage is more understated.

I had a similar budget a few years back and topped it up a little to go for a new Planet Ocean.
Took the opportunity to get it VAT free from Heathrow, if you can engineer a similar situation - 20% off.
Although I have heard at the time that UK dealers were offering 20% off anyway if you haggled - this may be chinese whispers and if it wasn't, may not apply now.

Thanks for all the help and advice, I will carry on browsing Chrono24 as I have a few months to decide.
Right now the Pelagos, Superocean heritage and planet ocean are standing out to me most.
I’d also recommend this. So many wonderful things out there and watches are very personal. Find something that grabs yourself attention. It’s got to be something you feel an affinity too. Then research and ask for advice on what you’ve found. So many different things out there for different tastes! Enjoy the rabbit hole and something as bound to jump out at you. It may be new, pre owned or vintage. Right now the Pelagos, Superocean heritage and planet ocean are standing out to me most.
If it was my money, I’d be buying a omega speedsonic lobster to add to my collection. They may not be to your taste but might be of interest to you. All very different watches, but each special in their own way. Hopefully useful. I’d even just to look at and discount or you see something linked from them that you like.

A chronoswiss timemaster

Or a Chopard Mille miglia

Edited as I’ve just remembered that you said you wanted a metal bracelet, two of these are on rubber. Oops!!!
