Having been after a Panerai for some time, but never really taken the jump, when I came across the blue PAM01313, I felt the time had come. That said, I still deliberated for a long time, and a few weeks ago, I finally committed myself given that its my 40th later this year - makes a good man maths logic to go spending some money.

I contacted DomH and cannot fault this service. Great guy to deal with, and given it did this all remotely/over the web, he was super easy to deal with. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

On to the watch itself, it landed with me a few days ago and here it the first photo of it on my wrist. I purchased this not having seen one in person, and not having tried one on. I don't regret it. The photos don't really do it justice, but its a REALLY nice watch IMO. Wears very well on the wrist, feel comparable to my SuperOcean 46, I think mainly due to the crown guard making it feel bigger than the actual face diameter. The alligator strap is very nice, albeit I miss the precision adjustments of deployant clasps, so I may look into a different clasp/strap combo later on. Other than that - this is it..... will get more photos if anyone wants, but to be honest, the ones online on websites/blogs/review do it far better justice.

Looks lovely but what's with the winder overhanging your hand by so much? Has it just slipped down your wrist?

It's the angle of the photo makes it look like its edging towards the middle of my hand, not the case.

We used to have the same duvet cover, I wondered where it had gone.

Congratulations on the 1313. I picked up the same piece in December, also via DomH and it's my favourite piece in the collection currently.

Like you, I don't like the current strap config, it's not comfortable for some reason. I've ordered the exact same strap in deployant format but brexit has caused a massive delay due to Panerai having to refile exotic leather import paperwork, but hopefully not too much longer.

It's currently on the rubber strap, it's comfortable but I really want it on the leather

I recall seeing your post, lovely watches indeed.

Is it not possible to retro fit the deployant clasp onto the supplied strap? I know it will leave the buckle holes showing, but wondered if this can be done? Or does it really need a new strap?

I just put mine onto the rubber one this weekend, not worn the watch really yet - will see how i get on. I actually really like the versatility and like the style of the rubber strap as much as the finesse of the alligator one.

Apparently the width and thickness of the two different strap types are different. Not tried it myself but will compare when the new strap (eventually) arrives. There's a strong resell market for panerai straps so I will likely flip the original buckle and strap to recoup some of the costs

Bumping the thread. Finally got the call that the deployant clasp and strap are in, went in today and had it fitted.

I can't explain it, but this watch is now perfect. Absolutely perfect. It fits perfect, looks perfect and has cemented itself as my favourite watch in my small collection.

Thanks for bumping. Does the clasp allow any adjustment? As in if your idea size is between two holes on the strap, would the deployant clasp allow this fit to be achieved? Or is it just replacing the buckle with the clasp, and you are still suck with the sized governed by the holes in the strap?

You're still governed by the holes in the strap, but it seems the holes are in slightly different place to the standard one as it really does fit perfectly now, though I haven't done a side by side comparison. Having said that, on the standard leather, I was between two holes, though on the rubber, it was perfect also. Strange now that I think about it smile

Thanks very much. It does look nice.

If you do get a chance, Id love to know how the holes in the stock strap compare to your new one. In any case, enjoy it!

In some bizarre duvet world we also have the same duvet.

Not missing - I don't think...

Lovely watch and congratulations.

May I ask why you didn’t go to Panerai directly?

Competitive price, watch is still supplied new with all papers and PamGuard via an AD. Not sure if Panerai direct would have done the same deal.
