... and my absolute pride and joy... a Daytona 110.203B. Stunning thing. Believed to be my birth year.
That is absolutely stunning, though I might get in to trouble if I buy a third watch in a week, after purchasing a cheap ‘Kentucky’ earlier in he week, I followed it up with a Manhattan, which someone had posted earlier and it brought back some memories. My father was given one as a gift from his boss back in 1978 and it was his pride and joy. Unfortunately he died a few months later and although the watch was kept for a time, the battery leaked and my sister binned it. I always wanted one, but didn’t know which watch it was until it was posted a few pages back.

Hope to have it by the weekend.

That's fantastic. I can just imagine that being worn with a big collar shirt, leather jacket and flares. If you haven't seen already the Professionals episode where Bodie gets one as a gift and it then gets broken, its worth checking it out.

Looks great!

My old man has a Heuer 1153 which his parents bought him for his 21st. Still regularly wears it too.

I struggle to find decent women’s watches as there doesn’t seem to be as much of a market for them but I bought this in 2019 shortly after the New Year

It doesn’t get a huge amount of wear at the moment as work provided us with Apple watches which I’m not fond of but it pays to wear it in the monthly rebates I get back.

I also have a 20 year old Ladies Link which has been bulletproof over the years. I thought about selling it but haven’t found anything I want to replace it with yet. It doesn’t really get worn anymore.

My Wife, who is very petite, often has the same problem, (her 28mm Mondaine looks huge on her), but we’ve found some really nice, perfectly sized, quality used watches from the 1930’s-1960’s on eBay.

The last one I bought her was a 1938 Breguat ladies dress watch, (according to the inscription on the back, a birthday present for a lady in New York in March 1938). I can’t remember how much it cost, but it really wasn’t very much money and it’s a beautiful watch.

Sorry for the thread derailment paperbag

My wife has the same watch. Got it around 2011. We had it stolen in a burglary quite a few years later. I tried to get a replacement and Tag had changed the model with an update, and the newer one was not the same. Luckily a salesperson as Goldsmiths managed to track me one down in stock somewhere in the UK and I managed to get an exact replacement.

Not good reading this as it’s tempted me looking at watches again thinking about another. Found this picture of a 2018 formula 1 special edition and fancy one but not available anywhere.

That must have been awful.
Glad you found someone who could track a replacement for you

My wife, classy Swede that she is, wears a 1994 SE/L wi2211.

Steveo replaced the deployant strap and reused the Tag clasp.

Serviced and restored last year and running like a champ (eta 2892 in these)

This is the watch that launched my fascination with them. My wife got me it. She was a carer at the time, on barely more than minimum wage. Paying for this monthly must have been a pinch. But she did it. And she lets me indulge my watch collecting 'hobby'. She is definitely a keeper.....

I bought this at an auction in Bristol. I am a big F1 fan and love the Italian track, Monza. i think there is a Rotary watch called Monza too.

Wearing either of these makes the day start off very well.

Big collar, leather jacket and flares it is. The watch is in time warp condition, don’t want to remove the sticker from the back.

Love that....a real slice of period watch history. Well done
