As the title suggests, just trying to figure out the condition of a potential dress watch. Looking at the dial, I first thought it was a greasy fingerprint on the glass, but now I'm convincing myself it's something under the glass, on the texture of the dial itself. Am I going mad?

This one, for those who care to look. https://www.chrono24.com/cartier/cartier-tank-amer...

If this is mould or dust or whatever, that seems to be a big red flag, no? And not a "they all do that, Sir" type situation?

ETA: any help or advice gratefully received!

It shouldn't be like that.... water damage from condensation? Whatever, I'd give it a miss..

The dial is patterned, but it should not be deteriorating like that.
Price seems a bit strong too. $7000, are they much more than that new?

17k... someone's taken a bath on that one for sure. And maybe a literal one too...

Thanks for the input, was what I suspected. On to the next one wink
