Birthday gift from my wife. Brilliant quality and very comfortable.
I have the exact same watch. An excellent item. Great lume, very comfortable and looks the business to my eyes. Well done Mrs Kosmidry!
I’ve had it just over a week now and had it on all weekend. I’ve got to agree it’s so comfortable and well made! I have a fair few watch’s nothing fancy and this has got to be my favourite.

Kosmidy, excellent watch!

OK after weeks of searching and deciding not to buy anything due to new car purchase I have just put £220 on the credit card on a brand new blue dialed 38mm watch. I had no idea it existed until a long internet session this afternoon. It should be here (as long as it is not vapour ware, a possibility) at the end of the week. I feel in many ways I am taking one for the team here. Not seen the watch ever mentioned before, from a seller that does exist but could be a little dubious.

Please can you all cross your collective fingers for me that the watch physically turns up and that it is a "belter", as ever time will tell. Nothing ventured in £200 land, nothing gained!

Good luck with the gamble. I did a naughty thing too this weekend and splashed out on a thread budget breaker, although it was on sale £150 off the retail price you normally find these new in the UK. Man Maths made it make sense.
My first new buy Seiko I'd been thinking about buying for a while. Outside the budget but you may find a used one close to it and I'm sure threadists will enjoy it. The dial is great fun and stunning in the flesh. It's a proper "monster".

^ didn’t they use to be about £100? Orange face and the old Seiko 5 movement?

I mean, that’s a lovely thing though.

I paid about 125 for my Orange gen 1. That was 15 years a go though.

Thanks, it's even nicer in the flesh.

Monsters started out in 2000 with the 7S26 21 Jewel 21.6K 40 hour reserve movement with no manual wind or hacking and were around the £200 mark with the 1st generation, the current range is the 4th generation with a £500 retail price, which is using the 4R36 movement which is a 21.6K manual and auto wind hacking with 41 hour reserve. It's a Prospex 200M range dive watch with screw down crown etc.

There is a massive following for the Monsters and some very sought after limited edition models going for significant money now, but also plenty to collect within the thread budget on the used market. Thailand is where the name Monster originated from and really took off and where a lot of the very limited runs were produced for.

This is a cool video showcasing some of the Monsters out there.

Thanks for the information! Yours looks terrific and I’m sure it’ll be reliable.

I wonder how that chap who got a Prospex ‘turtle’ for about 60% off doing? That was deal of the year 2025 for me. Just unbelievable.

That peguin feet monster looks like a great watch, they have a vibe all of their own.

I have a Royal Mail tracking number now so should have a new blue dialled watch in a couple of days!

Any Seagull 1963 owners here? I think this will be the next purchase but looking on AliX, 80% sale is March 16th?? It’s a bit of a minefield which is the one to go for, there’s a few on there and prices vary between manufacturers, and is it worth paying the extra for the gooseneck version? Sapphire or mineral? Also how are the straps on these? Thanks

That's a lovely thing - do love a good monster. I have a similar version with the lil shark fin on the dial.

There you go. When it arrives it will be my first Swiss watch, and also the most expensive in my collection by quite some margin.
I’m still waiting laugh

Although I received this today, so hopefully won’t be waiting for too much longer as it’s been near enough 6 months so far!

I don't have the patience for that kind of lead time. Hopefully it's as nice as you hope.

That Spinn I bought has arrived. It’s pleasantly retro, seems nicely finished and the vintage leather strap is an absolute bloody joy. £55, thanks very much. And no Bobbers you can’t have it.

Spinnaker Hull. Good watch, if you've got the wrist for it.

I've always though their stuff nicely finished. They seem to get the appeal of the fun without being silly look (though they do plenty of that too).

I'm still tempted by the Spinnaker Piccard. But at £300 it's a lot for something I know with absolute certainty will wear horrendously large and so won't get much use, if any.

Look at the dimensions and weight hehe

I've had a few Spinnakers and am a fan, but that looks almost unwearable.
