New Victorinox INOX Professional diver arrived this morning, thanks for the push chaps I bloody love it!!!
It's a chunky lump but looks fine on my gorilla wrist, the lune is bonkers and I love the clarity of the dial!!
So come on then, just who is coming to this watch show?!?!

Other purchases this year have (around the budget) have fed the beast; Casio Gulfmaster GWN-1000, Frogman GF-1000 and a Certina Multi 8 I need to sort out a few photos. Oh and a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar for < 1/2 budget for work and the gym.

This is all personal and as ever the best advice is to wear what you like. I prefer your earlier pictures of that watch as it is an interesting functional/tool watch which for me the tan doesn't quite sit with so well. I think that is because I associate tan straps with more relaxed or dressy watches however I plough a different furrow to most people when it comes to watches so I am sure your judgement is better than mine!

I am renovating an old Herdsmen hut/home and having some made to measure roof panels being delivered. I had an email yesterday saying that they are being delivered on the day of the Southampton show. I hope you all have a good time as unfortunately I can't go now.

Well let's just put this down to old age and plain stupidity.
I knew the Southampton show was on the 4th and that my roofing was being delivered on the 4th (today).
What I hadn't processed is that the show is in July not June.
I should still be good for Southampton next month, you may all take the piss out of me for being such an idiot!

Unfortunately I wont be able to make the show. I've been a tad occupied recently, sorting out buying my new home oop north, whilst helping my brother darn south. I went to Opera Holland Park in central London this week to see La Fanciulla del West, and would highly recommend both that production and the festival there in general. It s just wonderful.
Anyway, as happens on this kind of occasion, I was introduced to the head honcho there. Peeking out from under his double cuff was a Christopher Ward Bel Canto chiming hour thing.
I spotted it instantly and commented on what an appropriate timepiece he was wearing, what with him running an opera festival and all.
He was surprised that I had identified it, and apparently there was some kind of tie-up with Mark Francis (is that his name?) who runs Ward. His daughter is an opera singer, something like that.
Anyway. The watch: bling in a good way, too thick for my tastes and it looked a bit odd on its Oyster-style bracelet. I think a nice leather strap would ve set it off better.
He seemed pleased with it. I think they re about £4K.

I know we try to be nice on this thread, but it really triggers me. I think it looks a total mess, and more importantly, once you've seen it you can't unsee it...
