I'm not sure on the rules regarding mixing straps for motorsport vs military inspired chronographs, I expect one of the elder statesmen of this thread will be able to clarify
Strap wise anything goes, recognising that a cheap watch on an expensive custom strap is a perverse and wonderful pleasure.

If you like how it looks and wears then it's all good.
I think out of my lot I've not gone over 50% of the cost of the watch on a strap yet. I think my most expensive is an Uncle Seiko president bracelet that currently resides on a grey DressKX.

Actually I found this CWC chrono model, Swiss quartz with sapphire and indeed it is triple thread budget:

I know it's a little detail but it's not a big ask for "premium" watch makers to put a colour matched date wheel in surely?
I got my Pulsar for £40 used on eBay btw, came on the grey canvas two piece strap.
Picked up this Boderry Admiral GMT the other day as a cheap and cheerful beater. Titanium Case and bracelet, Automatic, GMT for £136.00!!
Was a little sceptical when I ordered it but have been pleasantly surprised with it. Pretty good looking, nice and light and seems to be well put together, especially when you take the price into account.

Chucked it on a Grey Nato as well......Spot on!

I have the titanium version, it is gloriously weightless and was something like £60 brand new. (The standard strap is rubbish though. I keep thinking of getting an elasticated loop strap to reduce the weight even further.)
I've got mine on a grey canvas strap which really pairs well with the field watch look and is a massive upgrade despite only costing £2.50 off eBay.
Assembled in China no doubt, but the Nh35 movements sold to third-parties by Seiko are (I believe) made in Malaysia.
I like that design, even if it has a kitchen clock kind of aesthetic, and although Braun always strikes me as a manufacturer of electric shavers rather than timepieces. But what do I know, eh?
I’ve just read that back and it sounds like I’m s
tting on your new watch, which I didn’t mean to.
Enjoy the watch.

Although I love my Braun shaver, I always thought of them having pretty revolutionary designs mid 20 century, so a Braun-designed watch seems appealing. The only odd thing about it is that Apple didn't copy the design 1:1 for their watch.Truckosaurus said:

That was part of the appeal to be honest. (The German/Japanese crossover as well).I mean, I don’t have any particular desire to hang about in Swiss railway stations but I do like a Mondaine Bahnhofsuhr.
That whole minimalist (Bauhaus?) design language appeals. I wonder if someone could make a slim quartz Bahnhofsuhr with a dive bezel. I’d be all over that.
Apologies. I’m rambling. Blame the Belgian beer.

Braun do a nice digital watch but they are just a bit too expensive usually for a bit of fun.
Which is a shame as they look quite classy for a digital watch.

I really like it too, but it's an absolutely heffing gigantenormous hipopotanarse of a watch. Far to large for me, although I'm no Bobbers...

My new Citizen CA0840-87L chrono, I'm quite happy with it! Half price clearance at $349NZ (£162). My photos aren't really doing justice to it, nicer in the metal than the photos show.
Still practical but more polished and dressy with a bit more presence than my other watches. As I'd hoped the dial pattern/texture is fairly subtle and only stands out from straight on or up close, from an angle and further away it looks more uniform deep blue.

Nothing wrong with the bracelet but I normally find leather bands more comfortable so I might try it with leather at some stage too, brown or tan rally style would probably suit it.
