I've built up a couple of Seiko's using parts off aliexpress and NH35 movements. Great fun and you get something that looks way more expensive than the £100 odd it costs in parts.

In fact if the Green was available at (say) a 50% margin over parts cost, I'd be first in line.. wink

I’ve got this coming:

For this:

Which should hopefully make it look like this (Stock photo):

And in other news if anyone wants a lightly used Vostok Amphibia let me know. All proceeds going to Ukrainian relief funds. It brings me no joy to wear, so off it must go.

Spare links and a Nato strap will be included. PM me.
I've got a crafter blue on my Shogun and they are a lovely strap. Fits perfect and the material is top notch. It'll look just like their pics, not dodgy BS photoshopped pics!

You should give it a go, it's great fun!

I've actually swopped out the NH35 for an old 7s26 I had lying around (shake to wind movement), I'm going use the NH35 to build up something else...

If you really are interested in the green one, drop me a PM.

The Pacific Blue watch from Spinnaker is £295, but there's a 20% discount code. It comes on a stainless steel strap but I much prefer it on a decent leather. Is it a straightforward swap?
Yes, a strap change is a pretty simple thing to do. You just need a spring bar tool or a small screwdriver.
Many thanks. I mailed Spinnaker actually, to see if I could get one on something other than a bracelet, and they offered to sell me a 20mm rubber strap at 50 quid. I suspect I could do rather better than that, but the somewhat obvious marketing (and offer of a 15% first-time buyer discount instead of the 20% one I'd applied) rather put me off.

I'll have a think about it; I still like the watch but the indifference to engaging customer service hasn't inspired me.

This Magrette is turning my head, looks like good value on their website at $300, nice motif (imo) and Selitta movement. Anyone know the brand?

You do realise that is the deposit?

That Bulova Devil Diver...

... I love it biggrin

Pictures on the sales websites do nothing for it - the 3D dial markers give depth and character and really need to be seen, and the dial is lustrous at certain angles yet subdued at others, meaning it's never boring to look at smile

(Those pics are compressed to hell so are very soft! lol)

Have any of you guys got experience of orient watches?

This one is really taking my fancy and seems to get great reviews.

I have that very one, it's a lovely watch. Decent lume on it, nice bezel action and case finishing is quality. In house movement.

That's good to hear!

I've been looking at a few microbrands recently and to be honest they don't loom great value compared to something like this at just over £135 brand new.

Speaking of the Kano my new sailcloth strap finally arrived from Bradystraps. Had a bit of a saga with it as the first one disappeared in the post it seems but after a few email exchanges the guy who runs them agreed to send me out a replacement.

I have to say I am mightily impressed with the quality, a really premium feel to it.

A smidge under 180 quid with the discount code. Thought some here would be interested

They had a sale a couple of weeks or so back where nearly all the Seiko 5 Sports SRPD models were £125 - so half the RRP. A stonking buy at that price, not seen them close to that anywhere else. Unfortunately the pepsi one (SRPD53K1) was sold out before I could buy.
Doubt they will be that low again with inflation running hot.

Anyway after umming and ahing about Orients, I've just ordered a Rotary Super 7 SCUBA on silicone (will probably swap out strap anyway) which have a 20% discount at present

https://www.watchnation.com/product/rotary-super-7...

Seems well worth a punt at only £159.

Looks good to me. I’ve always thought Rotary made a nice watch - alas, I have only one and it is from twenty odd years ago… quartz that died but a well finished watch that I loved for a long time

If you are a Liverpool fan, Tribus(Christopher Ward's new brand) has the Liverpool champions watches on 70% off.

Swiss made SW200 at them prices is a steal if you don't mind the LFC badge. laugh
