The Under £200ish Watch and occasional Opera Thread! Vol2

Thoughts on this one? Looks to have the fully functional inner duel time dial…..but I don’t think I the outer ring with the red marker works like the real deal?

I’ve got 4 PD’s here, for the price (all under 70 quid, my best ones actually the cheapest! £29 for the GMT Pepsi, it’s been brilliant) so they’re decent enough, this is PD-1888 is £150+ though. Fair chunk of cash for a Pagani, wonder how long the movement will last. Limited to 1000 pieces

Can't stand fluted bezels! But that's subjective so irrelevant. I've had a few Paganis, they were pretty well made and a bargain for the price. Looks like it'll work as you say, and can't see any markers on the indices like the Sky Dweller has.
Behold the Casio MTD-1057
A quartz budget chronograph divers watch.
Found buried in a drawer of bits and bobs when having a clear up. I must have bought this thing nearly 20 years ago!
Battery was dead and when I put it on the original strap snapped clean off!
Quick clean, popped a new battery in and new strap and it's back up and running absolutely fine

It's got a few light scratches on the bezel and one on the crystal

Anyway, it's back up and working
I've worn it a few times but thanks to this thread I'm now up to 9 watches and this one very rarely gets used.
Anybody want it?
Seems to go for between £40-90 on eBay
What do we say? £25 including postage?
Considering it's not the original strap and I wouldn't trust it being waterproof anymore as I changed the battery myself.

A few new models I've got and pictured, along with one of the cats who hasn't seen me all week.
New from the Amazon US, the MWD-110H. 51mm X 47mm so a bit of a biggun.. no idea when I'll wear it, but it's finished the Casio collection off for now!

Also in from the states, new Nodus sector sport. My third after having a yellow/gold and then a white one that are now both sold. This is a sort of silvery blue that looks great in the light. This concludes my automatic collection... for now.

I've been thinking of getting a Black Bay 'homage'. My plan all along was to get a Cronos L6033 on Jubilee bracelet. Thought i'd try a Jubilee bracelet for a change and not many Black Bay come with it. That would work out to be $208 (+ shipping + duties) and comes with a PT5000 movement.
I then saw the Watchdives WD7922 which is £82 (+duties) and comes with a Quartz movement. The strap is a more conventional Oyster style and not Jubilee.
I have to say the price of Watchdives and the fact it comes with Quartz movement has a bit more appeal than Cronos.
Do I pick the Watchdives and accept the strap / attempt to find a Jubilee to swap with? Or spend a bit more for the Cronos?

Watchdives do make a Jubilee bracelet - e.g.:

You could ask whether they could sell one separately.

Interesting idea, i'm not sure how open to customisation they are. Worth a try in any case! https://watchdives.com/collections/hot-sale/produc...

I did see people mention using the San Martin jubilee bracelet on it.
Not sure whether a Jubilee on a diver is considered a bit naff these days. I think automatic movements in general are a bit of a novelty in cheap watches. Then there's the time keeping and maintenance issues so Quartz has a bit more appeal.
I’ve got the WD7922, lovely thing but it wears a bit small, I’m used to slightly larger watches though so it took some getting used to. I swapped the oyster style bracelet for a brown leather strap from alix, much prefer that although the supplied bracelet was good quality. It doesn’t look much smaller that the PD or Addiesdive below but you really notice it on the wrist.

If you're open to the quartz movement, I can vouch for watchdives quality. It's very good, probably nicer finished than Pagani design or similar.
Definitely open to Quartz for cheap watches. I sort of feel it's a bit wasted buying Automatic movements in disposable watches. Especially when there's little upside to the movement other than a smooth second hand. The reviews on YouTube seemed to suggest it was a lot of bang for the buck.

I've gone down a fauxtina vintage GMT rabbithole this afternoon so spotted this one, which is an auto.

That is a 41mm, and I'd much prefer a 40 or 41mm over a 37-39mm even if the larger size isn't entirely in keeping with the look.
If we double thread budget this brand is quite interesting, with a Monnin case:

The Quartz HGP come in at thread budget. I seem have managed to get three of these watches, (two auto and one meca quartz), they really are nice bits of kit.https://www.hgp-watches.com/collections/diver-gmt-...

The meca quartz in a nice shade of orange

Black auto with aged lume...

Full lume auto with sand blasted case. HGP have just released a sand blasted jubilee bracelet to go with it that I might just have to treat myself to

I quite like some of the stuff Thorn put out too. Less so about the text they printed on the recent sub edition.

will get it sold this weekend.
