What we think we know about water resistance ratings is almost all nonsense from marketing teams.
Not really when there's an ISO specification that has to be met.In reality a 30m rated watch that meets the ISO standard is more than most people will ever need, but like the saying goes a lie will make it round the world before the truth has put its shoes on.

This chart from a watchmaker is helpful. I look forward to hearing how the Swatch holds up in the pool. You might get lucky.
These are exactly the kind of nonsense charts etc I was talking about. They're meaningless.I would suggest the most swum with watches in the world have 50m or less water resistance - f91ws, smart watches etc

When purchasing my Mercury in Vegas, they took a copy of my driving license and said that you are only able to purchase one watch from the entire collection.
Has anyone tried purchasing a second watch at a different store/country?
They took a copy of your driving licence? And you obliged for a £200 swatch watch!! Worlds gone mad. I don’t even give my email address to shops. Has anyone tried purchasing a second watch at a different store/country?
I’m 100% sure you will be fine to buy another one as soon you find one in stock somewhere.

They made a point that you had to provide ID and pay with a card that had the same name on it. I’m 100% sure you will be fine to buy another one as soon you find one in stock somewhere.
Not sure if this is the norm for others that have purchased?
I'm in Munich for two days for work, but don't have time to visit Swatch to try my luck unfortunately.

That’s just standard practice for using a credit card - or was when I used to visit Vegas though it hasn’t been for a while. Not sure if this is the norm for others that have purchased?

Chip and pin was not widespread so I assume it was just an anti fraud measure.
It was a pain as I have an old paper driving licence so I had to carry my passport around all the time…

Possibly reasonable advice, from a certain perspective, but taken literally: clearly incorrect.
I have 2x 150m professional divers.
Yep. I wouldn't take a 3bar watch in the pool - and most watchmakers' warranties would suggest I shouldn't. But what do I know?I have 2x 150m professional divers.
