Platinum D shape for me and have a titanium one for knocking about.
Was a his and her’s thing.
But depending on size and budget…it’s up to you, but do try different shapes and sizes regardless of material chosen.
I think I'm settled on a 4mm "court" shape I think it is called. quite a traditional, rounded shape. Not as keen on the slab-sided/sharp cut ones personally. Was a his and her’s thing.

We got Sheffield stainless steel rings when we replaced our wedding rings last year.
I actually quite like the idea of a stainless steel one due to my interest in watches. However, the ones I've seen were so cheap (like a fiver or so!) that they didn't seem to fit the bill as a token of the marriage as such. Would you mind sharing a bit more about what you went for?Cheers.

Platinum.
Is that what you went for I presume?(You got married last year didn’t you and I know most of your watches are ss)
In 10 months mine is totally battered and wears the damage really nicely.
Goes well with steel.

Polished/mirror finish? I think I like this over a brushed/satin finish. Not 100% though.
It was polished, it is now covered completely in scratches to the point that it's basically brushed. I went D profile, very comfy and look round - also didn't want anything blocky.

They were about £200 each iirc

After looking I’ve now just bought another titanium ring which is a better replica of my platinum one…for £25. I’m not wearing the original titanium one as it’s a bit tight and thicker so not very comfortable.

Mine's titanium and I love it. Never wore a ring before we were married but when I saw this it just worked for me. A little darker than white gold/platinum, but very durable (I'm always messing about with cars/bikes etc) and remains shiny without any attention. It initially appealed to the engineer in me. It's also incredibly light, if that matters at all. And whilst it didn't/doesn't matter, extremely cheap!! it's also engraved on the inside.
Only thing to bear in mind with Ti is that it can't easily (if at all) be resized, or so I was told anyway.

While I was just shopping for a titanium ring read a great review saying that it was nice but was light and felt cheap…Only thing to bear in mind with Ti is that it can't easily (if at all) be resized, or so I was told anyway.

Looks like a wedding ring to me. Those old ones are much nicer that the vast majority of modern rings IMO.
Agreed. My wife and I have my grandmother and her mothers rings which were 22ct resized (up a lot in my case of course) - really like the simple style. I wear gold as I tan quickly and wear steel watches, never given it a second thought. If you’re pale then gold can look a bit off on a bloke.

Get it platinum plated? then it has sentimental value but still works colour wise?I have polished Tungsten Carbide. Bit darker than stainless steel, but basically un-scratchable. Mine is still a mirror finish after 15 years. A work colleague took a file to it after I dared him, and not a mark.
Not expensive by any means but has some weight to it so feels premium.
