Anyone planning on attending the Kop Hillclimb this year?
http://www.kophillclimb.org.uk

I've not been for a couple of years and may go along on the Sunday this weekend.

Well worth a visit to get up close and personal with the vintage machinery and a real treat to see it being moderately thrashed up the road.

I'd planned to go today but I didn't like the look of the weather, I'll see if tomorrow looks more pleasant.

I go most years and there's always been a fantastic variety of quality cars and bikes to look at,
but the hill climb itself is nothing to get excited about - getting any sort of DECENT view of the cars going up the hill is
almost impossible; other than the makeshift 'grandstands' at the bottom of the hill, there's nowhere to view other than the odd gap in the hedges, and you can't walk to the top to see the cars arrive.

You can get to the top but it's a long way round by car. I live a few miles away and went today.

Best place to stand is at the paddock entrance where the cars/bikes queue up to cross the road.

What were the conditions of the grass public car parking like?

Seemed ok, that field is better if a little damp as the crop residue is still there. I went a few years ago on a hot and dry day and it turned a bit dusty.

The geology of the area means it drains very quickly so doesn't get waterlogged like some other areas.

I'm still undecided whether I'll go as it's also the steam rally and country fair at the Shuttleworth so am umming and ahhing to decide between them.

Thanks for the parking answers smile.

I'm also only a few miles away and the weather at the moment is grey and drizzly :-(

It will dry up! Man up and support this event as not many others have something like this in a local field!

I went Saturday afternoon. Just got there in time for the Ferrari's going up. Was worth it so I could take a look at the F12 tdf.

Appreciate its all for a good cause, but I think the £15 entrance is a bit steep. Might be because of the weather, but it seemed a fair bit quieter than last year when entrance was £10.

Was £10 online in advance...hope they do the same next year as £15 is quite a lot.

I did go - queued for a long time to get in and got caught in a heavy shower shortly after arriving biggrin.

Viewing the hill was better this year, there appeared to be more trailer based 'grandstands' than in past years.

There were as always, some very interesting vehicles, but not as many as in previous years.
A lot of those scheduled to go up the hill, didn't go up or didn't turn up (on both days).

This hill climb, unlike some possibly, starts at the bottom of the hill!
