CLOPHILL CREW REVIVAL
Discussion
Hello all,
I hope this message finds you all well?
It's been a long time since I've taken to the forums so needless to say, some of you may well not remember me from the old days of the Flying Horse meets. I'm the one who hid his Corsa B round the corner...(sometimes parked it front of Lambos to spoil a photo)
So it's been some time since there was a meet within the vicinity and it would be great to catch up with you all again. At this stage I don't have a venue but I can't sort that out very quickly once I know how many would be keen to meet up, The Flying Horse should still be up for it but I'd have alternatives if not!
I hope to hear back with some interest, I very much look forward to catching up with you all in hopefully the not too distant future.
Best wishes,
Ben

To be clear, I and many others are big fans of the orginal Clophill events, they were amongst the best with some amazing cars.
However there were a few reasons why they stopped happening, the main one being that the manager of the Flying Horse who was a car enthusiast used to turn up early so we could use the pub facilities, he would also provide bacon rolls and coffee etc.
Unfortunately the manager moved on to another venue, so we lost the use of the actual pub facilities even though we continued to use their car park. A lack of facilities put a lot of people off especially those who brought their partners or families with the promise of 'breakfast in the garden while I look round the cars'.
I hope you manage to resurrect this once great event, but (IMO) to be a success it's not a case of just turning up.

That would be me! Used to chat with STICKY3 when I was the bar manager there. The chap after I left didn't communicate as often and I was well out by that point and elsewhere, so there were as I understand a couple of miscommunications! However there were a few reasons why they stopped happening, the main one being that the manager of the Flying Horse who was a car enthusiast used to turn up early so we could use the pub facilities, he would also provide bacon rolls and coffee etc.

Just to keep everyone in the loop, looks like we will be changing the venue but it's all underway. As soon as I have a firm date I'll be sure too share then we can start getting the ball rolling properly.
Many thanks to those who've been keen to support, looking forward to a good catch up!
