I'm out of it - oil pump failure yet again. I'm done with it now. Stupid money pit that just ain't working. Not a happy bunny. End of my HSV ownership. Not sure when or if I'll return to the meet.

Very sorry to hear that Mark, how the hell does that strike twice? You'd think a thumping great LS engine would be fairly bulletproof!

I really dunno what to do at the moment Mr S. My head says buy a Lexus CT200h and spend more time shooting holes in things and drinking Amarone (not at the same time/location of course). Heart says have a year in a Maserati QP and then get the bus 'til retiring age.
Gotta decide soon - can't actually get a bus to work so Uber is my car at the moment lol.

You should see my 'saved adverts' on Autotrader - it's a hilarious selection ranging from a Ford Fusion to Maserati QP's via a 2.1 forged stroker Scooby.
If I was American it'd be so much easier - F350 dually, Taurus Raging Bull .454 Casull and a jug of moonshine (at the same time/in the same location of course)...

That is rubbish luck. Surely, you must have some form of warranty, at least on the new engine?

Ouch. Rotten luck on the HSV.

:/

On another note, I was chatting to some of the chaps showing clsssic cars at armed forces day in st Neots yesterday, particularly taken with the Citroën Bijou, and made them aware of this meet so might see a few new attendees.

Over a year old now and 20k miles. Monkfish who fitted it ceased trading too so that's the way it goes sadly.
Write that off as the most expensive bit of fun I've had.

Agreed - sorry to hear of your bad luck with the engine frown

Feef - any pics of the cars there? I drove across the bridge a few times Saturday back and forth to the tip but didn't see any cars only the stalls. Had a lovely view of the BBNF Dakota though from my back garden as it circled round towards the park and wagged its wings - one of my favourite aircraft.

I didn't get any photos I'm afraid. I was really short on time as I was working one of the stalls and only had 5 minutes before shutdown to go and have a quick chat.

There's literally a couple on the Armed Forces Day FB page

I’m afraid the date clashes with Kimbolton again.

Whenever & whatever you decide to replace it with, please do come along to the meet again sometime - anything always welcome.

I'll be there on Sunday.

Other half's ruined my weekend. Got to go and finalise my new kitchen in the morning, but if I get away early enough I might make a late appearance.

Yup.

A few of us turned up but it was quiet. I suspect a combination of hangovers and the Kimbolton show.

Next month?

Hi Mark, just read your post. So sorry it's happened again. Cannot believe it's three times.
Like to wish you the best for whatever you do next. Best regards Terry
