Long shot here, but I’ve bought a car and the last owner lives in Bedford, MK45 postcode.

I can’t find a number anywhere for him so will have to send a letter but I thought I’d see if anyone nearby would be up for knocking on his door for me to see if he has any service history for the car as it’s gone walkies

Lew popped round to see the chap but he wasn’t very helpful bit of a shame as you’d think that someone making that much effort would be met with a bit more enthusiasm! But never mind.

Thats a bit off. I'm in MK45, not that it matters now.

I had a guy contact me the other week who had bought my old R8 from a dealer. Turns out it had had a rear shunt before I owned it. I was unaware off and this lad had found it and was looking for some information. Was more than happy to help where I could.

My pleasure, the only BMW garage I can think of in Bedford is Elms just across the road from Wickes, showing as 'Barons' now on Google maps but obviously you've already tried them. I can understand why some may be a bit wary of some bloke turning up on their doorstep asking for information on their old car, but once I'd explained myself a couple of times I expected a bit more help than that

I've sent him a letter special delivery this morning so he'll get that tomorrow and maybe that approach will garner a better result!
