Well, presumably people who aren't Andy's mates. People who are in fact customers.
If that refers to me, I m happy to send picture of repaired wheel, I don’t even know where Andy lives or even his surname

Feel free to click on "upload an image (beta)" on the web version of PH. You can upload photos pretty easily. I'd be happy to compare yours with mine, we can see why you have one opinion and I have another.

re: where the guy lives. I won't dox either of you. It's not hard to work out though.

Has anyone used the wheels specialist in st albans themselves? They seem to be the most convenient for me otherwise a trip to Pristine...

I used them back in 2016 to do some work on some Lexus wheels and they came back in great condition. Not the easiest place to find if I remember but reasonable value and a decent job on alloys.

As promised photo of mini wheel refurbed by mint alloys I actually have another wheel in with them now, I’m not an expert but it looks pretty good to me

I believe there has been a little bit of mistaken identity on this thread, regarding my user name and another who is commenting on this thread.
Just to clear this up i also am local to Mint alloys and have used them a few months back and had no problems with their workmanship.
Cheers Dougie

Very disappointing to read these negative comments about my business.

I started Mint Alloys back in 2005 as a man in a van and have grown it to what it is today by taking pride in what I do.

If anyone does decided to use Mint Alloys and they are not happy with the end product please tell me as that’s the only way I can change practices in the workshop or implement staff training. I’m willing to rework wheels if they don’t meet a pre agreed standard (you can’t expect a set of 10 year old heavily corroded wheels to come out like brand new wheels)

We strive to provide a quality service and have a large customer base of happy repeat customers both b2b and retail.

The following links show a few wheels we’ve put through this week.

Doesn’t particularly ring true as I certainly did tell whoever I dealt with about the marks from the tyre machine on the set of MX5 wheels, and the poor finish on the Focus wheels, and was met with grouchy denial and excuses, quite frankly. The “willingness to rework” certainly wasn’t evident.

Just out of interest but why do a lot of wheel companies not advertise fixed prices? I'm probably a bit lazy so tend to just go for one that publish the costs.
Not a dig, just wondered as pretty common.

Bespoke Alloys near Uxbridge turn out some great quality work for reasonable prices.

From previous recommendations on here I used Autowiz in Welwyn Garden City earlier this year to refurbish one of my Mini wheels.
Decent quality finish, good value and prompt service.

I looked at using them for a recent refurbishment. Heard good things but they were quite expensive compared to Autowiz.

You get what you pay for all the wheels are acid dipped and stripped all the way back. I have used them for so long now I know what I am getting so the price is worth it for me as they are also close to me.

Today I finally got round to booking my runabout’s corroded alloys into Letchworth Diamond Wheels. Dropped in there to chat and book, they’re reassuringly busy and the wheels they were fitting back on to cars looked excellent. Mine are being done in a couple of weeks, will report back.

Got the runabout’s front wheels done at Letchworth Diamond Wheels. Very efficient and friendly, and I’m pleased with the results.
